Yellow is rough, I would consider maybe an earthshade or black wash to give definition, In the future may want to consider layering with maybe a brown or drab red base and then wash. It does look okay now though, Nice little pop to the model

the yellow is a bit thick, but It's good so far. Try to highlight a little more.

Hmm... looks like primer or paint went on way too thick. Yellow and red are both known as terrible colors as far as coverage goes. Avoid the temptation to use glob thick paint on the model to enhance coverage. Instead, work in very thin layers; it is time consuming but in the end will look much, much better.

Agreed. That's the result if you layer your reds and yellows carefully.

Lahamian medium actually makes layering less stressful, if you're using GW paint. Although, water is easiest with acrylic paints.

That stuff is just horribly, horribly over priced acrylic medium that is no different than the bottles of the stuff found at arts & crafts stores. It works with any water-based acrylic paint and it can be used to make glazes, but you are better off buying a cheaper, better glaze medium.

Read these articles if you want to know more about using glazes and other mediums, they are a very powerful weapon in a painter repertoire:

It is overpriced, but if he's using GW paints it wont make a difference.
