Finally came up with a list that I'm quite happy with, has tons of opportunities for conversions and IMO looks pretty strong.

Baron Sathonyx 105
Haemonculus: liquifier gun. 60
Haemonculus: liquifier gun. 60

8 Grotesques: Aberration (venom blade); liquifier gun. 305
4 Kabalite Trueborn: 4× blaster. 173
Venom: splinter cannon.
4 Kabalite Trueborn: 4× blaster. 173
Venom: splinter cannon.

5 Kabalite Warriors: blaster. 125
Venom: splinter cannon.
5 Kabalite Warriors: blaster. 125
Venom: splinter cannon.

Ravager: night shields. 115
Ravager: night shields. 115

Spiritseer 70

5 Wraithguard 160
5 Wraithguard 160

1,746 points

The idea is that The Baron and the Spiritseer join the Grotesques and form a toughness 5, 24 wound, stealth, shrouded, FNP slab of meat.
From here, I can either add the Haemonculi to add two more liquifiers and some more pain tokens or put them in with the Blasterborn.

The Wraithguard become walking walls which the Grotesques follow behind and gain a 2+ cover save from. The WG also act as Anti Tank and can, if needed, grab objectives.

Their is enough anti tank to deal with any armour issues and plenty of anti infantry.

For flyers, I simply ignore them as the Grotesques can withstand most firepower from flyers (especially Drakespam) due to the fact of having so many wounds. Tau might give me some problems, but with this amount of beef, it will still be difficult to shift and will leave my other units free to kill stuff.

Any comments or pointers?

For conversions, I plan to fully convert my Grotesques from Ogres and Talos bits. The Wraithguard will be a combination of the same, but have them carrying the Wraithcannons like rifles just so the army looks sort of uniformed. For the Baron, I'm going to have a guy riding on top of a Grotesque with a platform. Kind of like an overseer, lording over his creations.

At larger games, I plan to have Wracks and a Talos.

Well, the Eldar detachment. The enemy can fully concentrate on the DE skimmers first, since WG is very slow.

The issue you might find with the Grotesque star is that it is slow. It seems to me like they would be similar to Chaos Spawn (15 T6 wounds), and I can tell you that unit will struggle against armies that ignore cover (Tau and Eldar)

So against the top two armies, I'll struggle and against GK in CC, but otherwise it's ok?

It is probably OK, I'm not sure that it is necessarily super strong against all other armies (MCs smashing in close combat are an issue, but poisoned shooting helps there)

I would say it would have some trouble against Crons simply because you don't really have much in the way of flyer killing power.

Really it is not bad against lots of things, but it will not make top tables at larger tournaments.

Not fussed with top table tournaments, I never have time to get to them.

Just to get some games in and do well will suffice.
