Any ideas on how to convert an Autarch to be modeled with The Mantle?

Look to the harlequins for inspiration. A brightly colored cape or sash might be enough. A diamond check pattern on his jet bike. A flamboyant pennant streaming from his weapons/back banners. Possibly the harli rune displayed prominently.

Just some thoughts.

What do you think about using a Death Jester head with the Dire Avenger crest thing?

To deathy if you ask me. Id just use the exspoed head from the DA box. Just paint him reall bright lol id run along the same colors as the Joker.

While I think a mask might work, the death jester is a little to skull-generic. With the way 40k overdoses on skulls, it's hard to use them to designate something special. But masks are a key part of the harlequin aesthetics, so could work as part of a scheme. One issue would be if you were planning on giving the autarch a banshee mask or mandiblaster, both of which will take up the head slot of the mini.

That sounds like it could work. I was thinking the Death Jester head because it has the most intimidating smile on the mask.

True but like most things in 40k skulls are every where. Eldar models are a little more elegant then most armys. I would paint up a DE jet bike head im sure you can get pretty creative on one. as there is so much blank space kinda like the spiritseer helm.

I think that helmet would be a good idea. I will have to practice my details, but as an additional bonus even if someone were to model the Mantle in the same manner odds are they wouldn't have the same design.

Mabye something like this representing the Webway.

That would look great. If you could maybe attach the top part of the DA helmet (the one with the fur) some where on the DE helmet. That would look great maybe have to see it though.

I also know there is a type of paper you can buy to print out water transfers. I know the lego guys do that for there custome lego minis. Could shrink that pic down and print it.

That would be pretty awesome. Any idea how much something like that would cost?

I have no clue. only know about because of some kid i met when i was doing apartment maint. He was printing all this stuff out for his lego guys.

I used an old Harlequin Jetbike front plate to represent the Mantle of the Laughing God. It pretty much speaks for itself.
