For those of you that have put Arjac together, in what shape was his shield? The one I got is very thin around the edge, much of it like delicate lace. Is it worth it to wait for a replacement, or are all his shields like this? The rest of the model is fine, and the last replacement I got from GW took almost 3 weeks.

I could also smear some Tamiya putty on the back to make it more solid, physically as well as visually. I think once it's painted it'll be fine, but I'm concerned about the structural integrity with use. However if the replacements are likely to be the same, I'd rather just suck it up and get going on him.

The Arjac that I bought had a very thin shield too, with holes poking through some parts. I backed it with green stuff. My friend who plays space wolves also has one in his army, and his shield was like that too, so he completely replaced it with a different shield from warhammer fantasy.

Good luck, I know how nasty that shield can be

Bah, looking more closely now, his hammer arm is TERRIBLE. I expect a lot of cleaning as I've worked with resin many times, but never from GW. This stuff is weird. His hammer arm is so rough, I can't tell what is flash and what isn't. I don't know if I got a bad cast, or if the mold is bad. It's too bad, his body looks great and I have really been looking forward to this. Guess I'll be calling them.

The shield doesn't bother me so much, since I could see it when I bought it. Some putty will be fine, but the hammer arm is unacceptable to me, especially for the price of the model.

The one I got had a lot of flash near the head and hand, and the long handle part was really thin and flimsy. I ended up accidently clipping part off of the hammer and had to repair it with green stuff and bits. Maybe you should get a replacement if you don't want to go through that

Or you could even replace the arm with another space wolf thunder hammer? Just add bits and make it look extra ancient and special

I don't mind doing some work to it, but having to swap out weapons and change the look, basically a conversion, is too much in my opinion. Besides, I really like the sculpt, so wouldn't want to change it so significantly. There is no hammer like the Foehammer, so I believe it should have a unique representation. The condition of the hammer arm is far beyond that anyway. I just emailed them, and will probably hear from them quickly based on my last communication with GW. I have no doubt they'll take care of it, just a bummer. For now, I'll probably put him together temporarily so that I can at least play with him until the replacements come, or I'm able to swap him out.
