Another problem someone was arguing with me on is about puppet master.

The rulebook allows you to fire with the target of this power. The FAQ mentions that you can rotate dreadnoughts to fire.

The problem comes up with the psychic app. Which says that you can pivot the target on the spot to target other vehicles. Can you do this? This is a case where the psychic app adds in a sentence and changes how the power works.

Finally, can puppet master deactivate shields and fire a Wave Serpents shields (thereby taking away its serpent shields for that shooting phase).

I was under the impression that any vehicle that isn't immobilised could pivot while affected by Puppet Master, but then I very rarely get to use it.

As to the Wave Serpent, I've seen arguments that the shield isn't technically a weapon, rather a piece of vehicle equipment with the option of being used as a weapon. Confusing, I know but as far as I know (at least until FAQ'd) no one knows if the shield can be affected by weapon destroyed results.

The fun thing to do with Puppet Master is to waste people's limited ammo weapons...

If it can be used as a weapon then I would say yes, the Serpent Shield is fair game to be used with Puppet Master.

couldn't the same argument be used if you puppet mastered a techmarine with a servo harness? it's wargear, but its a weapon. infact its 2 weapons. lol

I'd assume it was fair game, it may not be able to be destroyed by a weapon destroyed result but that seems to be more of a loophole in the weapon destroyed result rather than puppet master

The problem with the serpent shield is that it specifically says it may only be fired in the "in it's shooting phase" if you interpret this to mean any shooting phase then the shield reactivates "in it's following turn" so you would also be allowing it to reactivate in your turn. So define it's phase/turn and the WS player will be happy either way.
