Since they are glued to the bases already, probably base them with sand.

Is there a specific table you play on? probably should try to match that closely

otherwise probably a mid to dark brown base as your models are light and shiny as is.

Desubot The shop I usually play at has a sand/desert color. Should I use paint-on sand?

Paint-on sand? you mean like that expensive GW texture paint?

probably not as its way to pricy compared to just pva gluing some fine craft sand on or even better some cheap playground sand. leave it to dry for a day or so then paint it brown/tan

i prefer to use a neutral color like grave yard earth as it matches most tables.

There are a few ways to go because there are a few schools of thought (some even based on *gulp*color theories!).

1) Light models on dark bases
2) Dark models on light bases
3) Game-store specific
4) Whatever you feel you want

Whichever way you go...set your theme and stick with it.

I personally think a dark base because of your light models.

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Three!! Three successful trades! Ah ah ah!
