Got myself some nice new citadel paints this thursday and my first green stuff! Second model ive painted so far, this will be the colour scheme for my own Chapter: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/539935.page, which is still in creation!
C&C appreciated!

From what I can see, your model is quite impressive. Your green stuff work is really good for a first attempt and your painting is also very good. Now you just need to base it!
I'd add a wash to add some more depth though. Your drybrushed highlights work really well but I think a wash could be a good way to make it pop more.
On another note: Get rid of the mold lines as they subtract to your marine. Just take the back of a blade and carefully scrape them away. It should not be hard to do, you just have to be careful not to destroy any details.
All in all I think it's a good miniature at your level of experience. You've definitely got some important skills down already. Keep up the good work!

Well, that depends on what we are trying to achieve. I am quite fond of Agrax Earthshade but I'm not sure about giving this particular mini that wash. Agrax Earthshade usually tones down the colour while giving it a "worn" feel to it. If you want your marines to be clean and fancy I'd suggest a blue shade like the Drakenhof nightshade. But to be fair, I haven't painted blue in a long time and therefore haven't tried that particular wash.
Another alternative is to use the Agrax Earthshade and mix it with water to make it more transparent and lessen the darkened feel. In that way you could also apply more later on, if you don't feel like is has shaded the marine enough. Just try some different shades when you have the opportunity. I'm sure that you'll find something you like

I do plan on a worn look so I will try the earthshade, my marines are battle hardened, no show models!

The first pic really does look like he's wearing a wig.
Call him Brother L'Oreal... Because he's worth it.
I'd change the hood/rag/cloth slightly so he'd looks less like a wig marine.

My first thought as well. It doesn't look as bad from the side, but the first pic looks like a marine role playing as goldilocks

A wash should change that a bit
I suggest either Agrax Earthshade, or Nuln Oil (my favourite grimdark-maker!).
I really like Nuln Oil, actually. It makes my generic cadians-in-noral-grey to this:

What is the the difference between the effect that nuln oil and agrax earthshade gives? Just tht the earth gives a tad bit more of a dirty look?

I've used both extensively, and its really hard to describe the difference.
They are both fantastic washes, able to turn any rubbish paintjob into something table-worthy (and thank god for that!). I find though the brown is really good for natural looking stuff, I use it extensively on things like my Night Goblin or Ork infantry. I've had much less success with Nuln Oil on flesh, the end result just comes across really unnaturally compared to the brown. But for stuff like armour, like on my dwarves, it's absolutely fantastic, and likewise the brown looks very strange when used on armoured characters.
