I really like the blue glow effect you added to spots on the model. Good work overall! Did you paint the rod on the gun? Aren't those already clear and green?

Orkses is never defeated in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!

Thanks for your comment,

Yes i put on some blue glaze on the gun rod because so it looks a bit more warhammer style plastic instead of a cheap lego piece

Showcase is for work you feel is 100% done, I am moving this thread to regular PandM as you will get a much better amount of response there.

Please be sure to read the stickies at the top of each section to ensure you are posting in the right place in future -

Cheers!

I would say your painting looks fine.
Some crit though-

- I like the blue but it does not go with the green. I would make the green parts match the blue.

- Try to make your base more interesting. I made the mistake of making my Necron bases basic and the more I look at them, the more I dislike them. Try something which is not a shade of grey like sand or shrub.

Vim is correct imho, the green and blue clash too much. The piece looks good but could use some work in that respect. Also, when it comes to the base spice it up. Put some grasses and/or small shrubs. I would also thicken up the basing material. I'm assuming you used gw's basing paint. I wouldn't use it for most cases. I simply don't like it. I think it looks like crap but that's my opnion. The model deserves a better base, as soon as you fix those 2 issues I think it'll look 100 times better.

Cheers

I'd recommend some colour on the base as well. Like maybe something warm and reddish brown so it makes the cold metal and blue stand out even more. Even just a little tuft of static grass or bit flock with the right colour in it would work.

As for your actual painting, I think it's great. You've got good shading and highlighting and should be proud of the miniature.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I agree with the above posters. Great work!

Adding a bit more texture on the base will give it a more substantial feeling. Perhaps a mix of fine and coarse craft sand? Frozenwastes gives great advice about adding an eye-catching item to the base to really draw it out. I personally add a small chunk of cut up green rod sprue to my black/drybrushed gray bases to make them pop a little. Light tan grass tufts look great too.

Adding a highlight along the edge of the axe blade will make it stand out better from the rest of the gun.

Accents are phenomenally well done, but maybe all green accents or all blue?
