I started my tau army back when the latest dex was released and I finally started painting them the other day. My idea for my tau is that they are loyal to the empire and is in the process of hunting Farsight. My riptide having one arm wasnt the plan at first but unfortunately part of my desk broke and fell on him breaking booth boosters and both arms. I manged to fix his right side but the booster on the left would not glue back on. After that incident I decided to make my whole army look like it was currently in a fight with Farsight loyal tau.

I also apologize for the poor quality pictures, they were taken with my phone sometime late last night.

Hope you like it and C&C is welcome as always!

Awesome Tau! I love the Riptide's basing Along with the excellent weathering you've given their armor.

What an optimistic turnaround! Riptide looks good.

IMO you should add some more weathering: paint chips, dust, etc. Right now the damage looks out of place since the rest of the model is so clean. With weathering it's really an all or nothing thing, you either want to make your models clean and stylized, or realistic with complete weathering.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Thank you Sandinistato and hubbsey.

Peregrine, This was my first attempt at battle damage on my models, you are correct, the Riptide does look a bit of out of place, but I will say the Broadsides to look a little better only because i'm still evolving my technique.

Its a neat use for something that normally would be junked.

if you still have the other broken sides i think you should try to add it to the base, maybe have some earth cast drones trying to repair it. otherwise on the table top it would have no 5++ and 1d6 for a jump move

I still have the parts off to the side. That's a good idea though!. I might could turn them into objective markers.

Plus in these times of growing GW prices it's hard to junk a model. : /
