Hi guys,

I know the formula for making a patina for the likes of bronze to give it a lovely bluish colour. My wife has used it to great effect on SW bitz, I want to replicate this though....which colours dya reckon I'd be best using?

To give this a bit of context I'm wanting to have the Seismic Hammer for the FW dreadnought arm done with this, I've started off with a 50:50 mix of rhinox hide and sycorax bronze and applied that to the whole of the hammer section of the arm. (See pic)

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Splotchy reddish flesh wash. Reikland flesh shade ought to do. Apply by dabbing to ensure you get pools

Vallejo's Flesh Wash is a good alternative, if that's easier to get. Way too stark for flesh, undiluted, but it works a treat at full strength when you need a rusty red-brown for warm metals. I did something quite similar to your example on some dwarves' armour, using it. Tin Bitz base (quite close to yours, by the look of it) > heavy, rough drybrush of a pale gold (crappy craft paint and a coarse bristle brush, which helped me get a scratched, worn look) > VGC Flesh Wash > light drybrush of gold. Looked much nicer than the minimal effort warranted.
