Hey everyone, I posted up in another section of this website but I think it may have been in the incorrect area. My name is Brendan and I'm from Australia. It's been 10 long years since I painted my first 40k army, which was park in nature. I now return in 2013 with my new project. A completely original space wolves chapter. The army will basically be a skirmish group, consisting of only about 700 pts +

So far I've painted up 10 grey hunters and 5 Fenrisian Wolves. I've got a lord and 1 fenrisian wolf to paint also that will act as an accomplice. I chose a white/bone paint scheme to blend in with the snow backdrop of the tabletop they will be defending.
The army will consist of possibly:
10 grey hunters
5 blood claws
6 fen wolves
1 wolf lord
1 rhino
5 wolf guard

The chapter has been forgotten about and there job is to continually defend the border. Hope you all enjoy my concept, I will be posting regular updates!! Thankyou!!!

great start so far mate! I've never seen bone/white space wolves before, they look ace, and the red is a nice contrast

but why stop at 700pts? more I say MOARE!

Those are excellent Space Wolves. Also you get major kudos for not having a Rune Priest. Way to play an original army list.

Thanks heaps guys I appreciate it. Yeah i wanted to make my own successor chapter, I'm going to build a tabletop to fit into there story, where basically they have been separated from majority of the Space Wolves clans and now they are alone and have been for awhile, they have chosen a different scheme to keep them more camouflaged in the snow, but also wear and tear has aged and rusted there equipment with no way of gaining new supplies. That was the reasoning behind a small skirmish army, the tabletop will involve them defending a territory that they have set up. They still fight for everything space wolves but have lost contact. That's what I'm sorta thinking anyway. I finished the wolf lord today, bringing the army up to 385 points so far. I have just got to finish his fenrisian wolf guard that will accompany him, but I am waiting for some scout accessories to come to add some saddle bags etc to the wolf. I know its heresy what I have created here but hopefully people can see past it.

I also purchased a full photo shoot setup for miniatures last night which I will receive during the week so I will repost with better photography during the week. Cheers

Hey everyone just thought I'd post some updates of my WIP DIY space wolves chapter. My partner bought me the Thunderwolf Cavalry last weekend for our anniversary, was absolutely surprised. So I have painted up the three wolves and one rider, his face is not finished as my local GW store is closed atm. All 3 models will be 100% finished this weekend. I have 5 blood claws and 5 wolf guard begging to be painted so updates will come soon. I only every intended to make a small 700 point army, but as I work on this unnamed chapter I just want to expand even more. I have a vision for a wave of wolves so possible 2 more fenrisian wolf packs and have toyed with the idea of possibly having snow kroot mercenaries in place also. I just want a seriously desperate chapter of space wolves working with what they have got. Lots of wolves for one. Anyway heres a couple of photos from my display cabinet. Hope you all like.
