It looks great, I'm really looking forward to it, just need to decide between Jordanians or Syrians... So basically Pattons or T-54's. Jordanians are winning as they have a really cool mix of Nam era US stuff with WW2 era British Uniforms, artillery and anti tank guns.

Hell yeah! I cannot wait to see what BF bring out although for this conflict period much is already in existance.

Area's they would need to focus on would be Aircraft and Artillery, almost everything else (bar a few things like AMX 13) already exist in BF's other lines.

One thing I do like is the 80 - 90 % solution a good example here.

I converted the M109 to A3 variant which is common from the 1975 onwards. But because BF produced a 90% solution with the shorter Barrelled early versions all I had to do was drill out the barrels, add in some brass tubing, add some detail and Greenstuff. All done modern M109's!

@ mwnciboo: Does this have any relation to the home brew version you linked to in the FoW resources thread?

Well the M50 and M51's would need to be made as well and the Centurion will need a few add on sets but otherwise yeah the range is already there.

Getting really existed about this, thinking of popping down to the LGS tomorrow morning to get a few Pattons for the Jordanian force.... must resist.

Hehe it might do ! I've been working on the Cold War stuff for 10 months now, it's getting pretty mature now. Had my 1st draft from AMROTH turned into a Mock book, another couple of weeks and the 1st Cold War Book (in all it's glory) will be ready.

Wait till I move house and the Man Cave is opened - Mwnciboo's 15mm Studio will be born.

I hope they do better priced Centurion Packs.

2 x Centurions as a HQ

2 x Centurion Platoons of Three Vehicles

8 x BF Centurions will set me back £79.96!!!!! For a further £24 pounds I could buy the Guards Armoured Recce Boxed set of 17 Vehicles, decals, dice, tokens etc!!!

Paging PSC...

In all seriousness, who is cheap in the 15mm 'cold war' market?

QRF are pretty decently priced. http://quickreactionforce.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=440_444

QRF are cheaper if you use my PROMO Code "Redtide" you get 10% off - This is an Offer that Geoff opened to anyone who uses my blog.

On top of this he does discount packs of 10 or whatever. I might buy QRF Centurions, but honestly I prefer the look of the BF ones!!!

I would consider PSC ones, but will has his hands full doing WWII without diluting his effort in to Cold War.

IMO the pricing is main issue with QRF - theyr stuff is in same price class than fex. Skytrex was and old glorys "repacks" still are, but the quality is much more fluidy. BF, OG/Skyt, PP, MJ, Khurasan and Irish S. have quite steady quality, and BF I can get them from my FLGS with regular customer discount, but in case of QRF, Im mostly buying pig in a sack, and even paying 20% postals from it, so in case of casual MBT Im paying 7,8£ (6,5£ + 20%, which is approximately 9€s - so mostly I buy QRFs stuff when they are only option).

They have their good stuff (fex. their Chieftains and Land Rovers are good - but the flip of the coin, Centurion AVRE was pain in the arse along with their resin-fuselage helicopters which are HORRIBLE. Which is a goddamn pity, what I can see from the models is that the masters been great and well-detailed, but the C-class casting and air-bubbles ruins it. Either their caster has no idea how to cast resin, or then the resin quality they are using is completely wrong.

Agreed on most on the points. The problem is that QRF isn't really a Profit maker, it does it for the love of the hobby.

I would love to get into a financial position where I could buy the whole Modern Range off them and potentially do it myself - But I honestly don't see Metal as the future...I know why they use metal (to recycle waste) but with Energy costs as high as they are and increasing, I would want to shift to Resin and Silicon Rubber.

I'm already working on 3D Printing, and getting my CAD Skills up so Rapid Prototyping is possible. I've got a friend who runs this...

He's said if I can make the masters and devise the Range he would help produce and distribute them. Problem is I know BF are moving towards FULDA GAP, maybe mid 70's, so it's inevitable they will move towards 80's as well.

At a snails pace... Even if you can't produce cheaper you can still do obscure variants or Peter Pig style 'battle hardened' equipment.. Not everyone loves BFs super sized guns and tracks.

On a related note I think there would be good money to be made being PSC or Zvesda's 'Chapterhouse/Kromlech' making crew, stowage, variant turrets and the like. Peter Pig did it, making Katyusha crew for the Zvesda kit.

Funny you should say that.... I was pondering on a NATO or WARPAC Artillery Crews in 15mm especially like my SPG's like the M109 (the WWII ones for Panzerwerfers look great!).

Like these but more modern...

I mean they don't need to be amazing, as in exact right size shells, but a small number of poses, Carrying a Shell, Fuzing a Shell, loading a Shell, Gun Captain and Tampion carrier or rammer. They could be used with lots of different models.

I think things like Camo Netting, boxes, jerry cans, Ammo storage or shells, and racks of shells, boxes and stores maybe viable.
