After awaking from their slumber, the Tinnedh dynasty find that their archives have been damaged. With no trace of who they are or why they are there, they leave their Tomb to find that their world has been overtaken by Orks. Hearing the green savages yelling 'Tin'ead' at them constantly throughout combat, they come to the conclusion this is indeed who they are....

This is the first army that grabbed my attention, way back in 2003/4 now that I think about it. I was talked out of buying a Battleforce with good intentions, and told to research the other armies. That of course lead to even more confusion, picking CSM and then finding the wonderful world of Orks. So many years and armies later, here we are. I'm ecstatic over this army, I sat down and painted this all in one night. I may even get this painted by a tournament on September 14 if I'm crazy enough! The thing that originally got me interested is that they reminded me of Eddie of Iron Maiden fame. I'll take the Somewhere in Time symbol as my Dynasty symbol as well.

I have a bunch of stuff I got in a recent trade to paint:

Necron Codex

2 Necron Overlords
1 Destroyer Overlord
1 Trazyn the Infinite
2 Crypteks

20 Necron Warriors
10 Necron Immortals
5 Deathmarks
5 Lychguard
3 Canoptek Wraiths
2 Canoptek Scarabs

2 Annihilation Barge / Command Barge
1 Ghost Ark

And a big bag of bits for every of these models, including necron arms, guns, scarabs, wraith parts etc etc etc.

I'm still looking for more Lychguard, Wraiths, Immortals another Annihilation Barge and maybe some Croissants

Here's some pics so far, I'm hoping to update this every day with some progress. The first one is my test model:

I loved putting these together, I'm excited to paint them:

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

I used this technique as influence for the shoulders. I started with a basecoat, in my case purple. Add some black to the base color, and paint in the negative space of where you want the lightning to go. Then paint thin lines of a lighter color, make them sort of jagged, in the space between the dark spots. Then use lighter colors to highlight the edges and anywhere the lines are thicker.

I actually really enjoyed painting the shoulders I love doing the details it's the base coats that kill me.

I've only the green glow to finish, and something to make the bases a bit more dynamic, and I'm done. Here are some more pics.

lol nice title! I like em! Never liked the typical silver necrons. Nice job on the shoulders and glowing eyes! I agree though, basing them would feel more complete

First of all - Excellent pun! Totally heard this inside my head:
Spoiler:

Second, it's fantastic to see more original looking necrons that aren't weathered My Necrons also look all shiny and brand spanking new and that's the way I love them.

Those "lightning" shoulder pads really work contrasting with their body color and the greens, a nicely thought color scheme. I'm really curious how you are going to paint the Immortals and Lychguard tho

Been working on Immortals, just blocking in some colors. I'm going to lightning up and OSL the purple parts.

I'm almost done with the lightning on 3 more Warriors.

I've been a painting machine...though not much of a pic posting one. Please keep in mind that this army was totally unpainted, some of it even unbuilt a couple weeks ago. This is my 1750 list for the tournament tomorrow, but I don't think I'll have it all painted in time. I'll post up some better pics once I've finished them up a bit better.
