Hi, I have recently got back into the hobby after a decade holiday. I decided to start with blood angels. Any way my issue is my painting seems scruffy to me. The guys are at a standard I would have been happy with a few years ago but I am a perfectionist nowadays. So I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on how to tidy it up, techniques to make it look better etc. Heres a few pics of the marine I have just finished, ignore the base, also my camera is a bit naf so sorry about that.

It's a very dark shade of red for blood angels. I personally like the, a bit brighter but that's mostly personal preference.

I would recommend some iconography on the shoulders, right now he's very plain. There's just not much detail that makes him stand out. He's very much technically correct, I believe some glazing on select parts of the model will make it pop a bit more and add some dimension of lighting detail. Also paint the chords and things silver to provide contrast

Sweet I will free hand some Iconography now and glaze his shoulder areas etc to try and bring some light in.
