Hey guys!

GW releases their most expensive product ever: 10.000€ one-click-deal (this is not a joke).

Also:

- new 165€ strike force will replace battle force.
- new Reclusiarch command squad with NEW plastic reclusiarch model only available as a set (comes with razorback)
- new color sprays (or rather they are back again),

I got the full price list here plus and some additional information:

http://masterminis.BREAKING_THE_LINKblogspot.de/2013/08/gw-releases-most-expensive-product-ever.html (post in english, price list in German, though, fresh from GW ^^)

Awesome lol.

So the dust covers that are chapter specific are just sold separately from the normal codex?

Yes, just got some internal GW documents with new pictures.
Unfortunately, they are very low res, but one can kinda tell that the new minis look pretty awesome

Ah, and the old Black Templar codices will be removed from stores on Saturday. They will be replaced by the successor codex as already reported.

This is really puzzling. $13,000 at once is way too much for anyone to just throw around. It's a major investment. I'm genuinely curious if anybody is really going to use this.

It also highlights how expensive their products are. Nobody in their right mind is going to look at an army and think it's worth 10,000 euros. You want the customer to not associate high prices with toy soldiers. But most of what GW does defies logic anyway.

What is that aircraft in the upper left corner?

The four aircraft to the right of it look like Thunderhawks. They are bigger than the Land Raiders, so not Stormhawks. That doesn't look like any variant I've seen from Forgeworld yet.

Those are Epic scale, not standard scale minis.

The bases are a give away.

To answer the question - it's a Thunderhawk Transporter. FW sell 40k scale kits.

No, sorry. That is a Space Marine Lander. Epic only. It's about 4 times the size of a TH.

Right? I mean, Privateer started to encroach on their market share 2-3 years ago, and then GW blew them out of the water the last 18 months. Even separated from them a bit. Now they are releasing models, books, and digital content every single month and all the codices were written close together for better balance. Horrible logic!

This isn't aimed at you or me. It's aimed at the high end Apocalypse crowd. Those are the ones you see show up at the Apocalypse mega battles and they have ten's of thousands of dollars of stuff to show off.

No. Just a Company. And it saved you a lot of money, too. But I was broke so didn't get it. :/

Yes there was when the new Land Raider kit came out. White Dwarf number 245 (I happen to have it sitting right in front of me because a buddy and I were just talking about it).

It was $5000 USD or $7000CDN

Plus one FREE Thunderhawk Gunship! What a deal

If it was at 30% off, someone would buy it. Maybe a club group buy or commission painter, or ebay seller, someone would buy it. But no savings what so ever? I would love to see the sales numbers on this.

That whole reply seemed a little disconnected TBH.

Perhaps brassangel could clarify?

Finally, we can apply now for a Citadel Finemortgage© to afford the army of your dreams. Read those contracts carefully, guys, there might be some... holes in it.

I know it's dubious, but frankly I'm willing to believe it as long as I got to make that Finemortgage© joke.

$13,000...that is walking around money, even for the rabble. I'm not getting that set. My butler might get it, but he is always chasing the latest army.

I could see a large gaming group going for the Chapter bundle, if say you have like 10-12 or so who are all looking to start up a Marine army...

Mind you, I think it's more likely that GW staffers end up buying it at staff discount!
I threw in with one or two of the other staffers at the local GW store when they had the Company boxset release in '07 myself... ended up with a little over a company's worth of units once everything was split-up due to oddball squads.
