Given the lack of pink on the tips of the Doom's... things in the last two pictures, I'd guess that the top is the finished product, showing off mainly the doom, and that the last two pictures are shots of the Librarian after he was finished, but before the Doom was completed.
But that's just my guess.

Believe it or not the OSL only took five minutes,ghost tints are AWESOME!!! It took longer to clean the airbrush than painting the glow effect.

I feel like this could have been one of the best duels ever captured in a miniature. Unfortunately, the metal rod that suspends the Doom into the air completely breaks the illusion that we are looking at anything other than a miniature.
That being said, the painting is superb and the murderated librarian is done very well indeed. The bolter barrels aren't perfect, but even the 'Eavy Metal team only gets them centered around 80% of the time. (Which is why I never understood the dogged insistence on it.)
