The Dark City

Hi to the community of Dakka!

Firstly, all the ideas in my army list were inspired by pictures and blogs by CommissarKhaine, Ratapult and landcruiserlarry but I realise that there are many more people who have other ideas, and I give them credit as well.

Next, apologies. I'm sorry about the images I've previously uploaded, as they don't reflect my current ability at modelling in general. Also, I'm working on a dark eldar army alongside this one, so progress will be slow. Finally, I'm going through a busy time at school so progress will be slowed even further, but hopefully I should make progress every now and then.

Enough talking for now-ONWARDS!

Ah, grots. Nothing better than eight-ounces of attitude in a two-ounce can. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the little guys.

Carry on.

War Kitten- Nothing evens the odds like a reaper chainsword to the naughty bits
Sgt. Vanden- And now I'm a whale with panties. Can't see how this day can get any better.

UPDATE:

As it's a grot dreadmob, I thought that kanz should be at the top of the agenda, and I want a kustom one, so here's the body I will use for the first killa kan:

Hi again,

School starts on the 4th, so only a few more updates, then they will only come on weekends.

I started on the legs today, but found after completing 1 that there weren't any more feet parts, and after lunch the leg fell off!
I also messed around with the runtherd's base earlier on

Gretchin are always fun, so I believe this will be interesting indeed. Keep it up!

If you're going to use a lot of killa kans, perhaps Bad Moonz might fit well (yellow and a little black)?

The Dark City

hi Dakka,

last update for today, have been doing the weapons :

@Saintspirit: that's a great idea, and it will probably end up being those colours, as yellow is a great colour

Looks good! For the colour scheme I would go with blue to make them Death Skullz. Stealing and looting all the bits, then use them on the kans (the Orks, not you ). But I guess Bad Moonz would work well, too.

I have to admit I was torn between deathskulls and bad moonz, but I am open to any other decisions

Well, in case of Death skulls, the kanz would have to be more like as if the material was taken from all kinds of things, such as tau, eldar, IG, marine stuff. They really loot whatever they find. Bad Moon-kanz would probably be more richy-fancy-like, I think... But it's really your choice.

There an old foundation paint called Gretchen green, if you have it ace (the kan looks like it was made out of a foundation). But a fleshy sickly green would look ace. Never had to look for a replacement as i still have a pot... so mostly unhelpful. (maybe the gw conversion chart has a silmualr colour form the Vallejo range) then a green wach and layer or two

Looks like an ace project though, more!

Lucky for us I have a pot of gretchin green , although it has already had to cover 20 grots from my other, ork army

I'm back at school now (harder than ever as I'm starting my GCSEs), so will probably update every weekend at a push, but am coping OK with the hwk set , and am also managing to get an average of 2 dark eldar models done per week including weekends . This may sound slow, especially as they're not even fully done as I'm not doing the small details like eyes and the like, but I'm just making them look better on the tabletop rather than sprayed black.

Next post will be THIS weekend (hopefully!)

I am going to apologise now, because im sorry. I was going to update after my first week at school, but I picked up the pot bot on Saturday and thought 'I've got no idea what to do next'. And what with my birthday upcoming I have hopes of a battlewagon. I was thinking along the lines of double heavy gun turrets with grot sponsons where the side gunners normally go. With the additional plasticard armour plating and a proper door at the back rather than just a hole.
But that must wait, so visit my NEW thread

enjoy!
