Pretty cool, I don't get to see inside the Eldar buildings that much.

A Heretic may see the truth and seek redemption. He may be forgiven his past and will be absolved in death. A Traitor can never be forgiven. A Traitor will never find peace in this world or the next. There is nothing as wretched or as hated in all the world as a Traitor. - Cardinal Khrysdam, Instructum Absolutio

it's the first time I've entered Armies on Parade so it was a bit of an experiment and a lot of a learning curve. There's loads of little mistakes and flaws and things I'd do differently with hindsight but here's a basic run down.

The outer shell and walkway is wood cut with a jigsaw, I used card for the back wall and balcony hand rail supports, with two easter egg moulds for windows.
the moulding on the outer walls, the balcony and the curved supports at the back are foam card.
The four pillars on the walkway are cut down banisters.
all the egg shapes are polystyrene eggs from hobby craft, some sawn in half.
the round middle of the walkway is a ceiling light rose from homebase
all the gems are plastic gems from hobbycraft
I cut a hole in the base and put an upside down paper plate in it with a hole in the middle. the Iyanden shrine symbol was made from wood and then covered in supersculpty and sculpted. there are holes in the base of the shrine for little LED lights. the gap around the edge of the plate was filled with varnish.
the plants is modelling lichen with dots of yellow paint for flowers and there in pots I made and glued to the wall
the tree is some dead plant I found and I put little strips of paper with writing on it
Used a gold pen for the filigree around the windows
got an A2 space poster from Amazon for the amazing price of 5 pence.
the infestation is the spore things from genestealer sprue's with purple painted vains coming out of each one.

it took me much longer than it needed to with many mistakes to fix along the way but with the lessons learnt I know I can do better next year
and after the comp I'll have to re base all the figures since the rest of my Eldar are on different bases.
one thing I would suggest though is have a good plan of how its going to look ( like I did...ish) and a plan of how your going to build it and what materials your going to use ( like I didn't ) before you start.

anyway thats pretty much it
happy to answer any other questions
thanks for the feed back

Wow. Just wow, this is fantastic! I particularly like the bloodsplats on the walls, but I'd love to see some Shurikens lodged into the walls/floors where a firefight has been going on I think it'd just add to the atmosphere, and show that there's heavy fighting happening

They are something much worse than blood splats...

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

I know, I know, wraithknights are faster to paint than units of infantry. But if you're really going to try to fill up your army with wraithknights to get out of it, don't expect me to say that it looks cool when you shove them into scene just because they're all you have to put in. Get some actual Eldar, and then try this set again.

This is incredibly rude and insulting. Your post offers nothing to the OP's work in terms of constructive criticism or praise. I suggest you re-read the Tenants of DakkaDakka.

@OP, I think your painting and scenery is incredible and I can't wait to see more of your stuff.

One very small nitpick: If it's supposed to be Iyanden during the Tyranid attack, then there is no way they would be utilizing that many Wraith units; prior to the attack Iyanden was the most populous of the craftworlds, and Eldar only resort to Wraith units under necessity. It's possible they could deploy them as things worsened, however. Sorry, I love the fluff I do

Aside from that tiny detail, I love it. Especially the terrain. Eldar terrain is always hard.

Since I started this display I have also painted an Avatar, fire prism, vyper, 6 jet bikes, a warlock on jet bike, 10 dire avengers, 6 fire dragons, a farseer and a dark reaper. All of which can be seen on Dakka

The reason for painting wraith units ( apart from the fact that I LIKE THEM) is that Iyanden only survived long enough for prince yriel to rescue them because they raised more and more wraith units.
and the wraith knight on the walkway was anything but "fast to paint"

I'm not expecting to win any thing with this, I just fancied doing it. until the Christmas just gone I was totally out of the hobby for 15 years and only found out about armies on parade in April at the Forge world open day.

Ignore the jerk. Your work is exceptional and your board is one of the best eldar themed ones I have ever seen.

Ah, I see - that makes sense. But anyway, who am I to argue about fictional facts? Your work looks great sir.
