Finally back on dakka and painting again
So with that, ive decided to go with 2 very different models to break me back into painting.
Both are still very heavily WiP and have a ton of work before they are anywhere near complete.
There are even sections that are still only a base color lol.
So, here they are:

Love my skaven to death and now expanding to a 4k point army, and with that i decided it was time to add a vermin lord into the army.
However, GW's one really does not sit well with me, it just doesn't look like a powerful rat daemon.
It looks more like a malnourished rat on speed.
So with that ive started building my own one from a daemon prince, spare parts and a ton of GS.
Ive finally started to paint the guy up, so here is where im at so far with him:

Next is possibly the largest non-vehicle model ive painted in my life.
Since the rogue idol was released, ive wanted one but never quite had an excuse good enough to pick one up, until now.
Im just starting a savage Orc army and wanted a stand-in for the giant, so this guy fits the bill for it.
Large areas, not a great deal of detail that can really be added, so ive got to make this up as i go along with the painting.

So that's the stage im at now.
Both need a ton of work, but they are getting there slowly.
Aim to have them both finished by the end of the month now.
As allways, C&C is welcome.

what in the name of three hells is that stone model???... it is a stone troll? it even has lichen on it! and seals?...

the skin tones on the rat ogre look rather cool...

by the way... how big compared to an ogre model is a rat ogre?

Tis the orc rogue idol vik

Wanted one since FW released it about a year ago lol.
And thanks
Rat daemon is getting there slowly now.

Red bits are shields, but just a basecoat at the moment, ive still got to shade and add in the metal trim/decals.

So still a ton of work to do, but its getting there.

And a rat ogre is the same height as a normal ogre mate, give or take 5mm here and there due to pose.
That vermin lord ive made is about 50% again as big.

aha... so does that mean it is a statue or an animated rock?...never heard about that model ... but i am a rules noob^^

so... thanks for the height explanation... would you say there is conversion possibilities for my guard army to be using a rat ogre model?... with head swapsies of course...and the hands should be swaped too i guess...

They are initially Statues to Gork and Mork (orc gods)
But when an Orc army builds up the energies from it bring the statues to life.

They are the same height as an ogryn aswell mate
Head swap would be needed.
As for hands, they are pretty big, but not over the top huge.
Would simply have to clip the claws off the tips and they would look like fingers.

If it helps, the rat ogre sets gives you:

2 sets of legs

2 bodies

4 spine sections (2 fur, 2 mutated)
alot of arms (2 sets with weapons grafted to them, 2 sets of normal ones, a double arm and an arm with a gun grafted to it)

2 Tails

4 heads (2 mutated, 2 normal)

And various chains.
