So I though I'd start a blog to collect my thoughts and progress on my armies.

As I own most armies for at least 3000 points (only ones I don't are Necrons, Tau, Blood Angels, Dark Eldar and Dark Angels) my blog will cover my progress with the lot of them. How I work is each month's hobby budget gets spent on a different army, this prevents my over dosing on one army and getting bored. I also focus on getting that army's new stuff finished as I play that army for the entire month after buying stuff for it. As I have a limited group of friends I play against and have played against for years it helps keep things fresh if we are always switching armies.

My biggest army is my Ultramarines and I am trying to finish off the Chapter, I have around 200 marines, 10 rhinos/razorbacks, 2 storm ravens, 2 predators, 1 whirlwind left to paint to finish the chapter for all but one company. That final company I am waiting on FW's pre HH Ultramarine goodness to hit in ~2015 before I do that. I have everything but the predators and whirlwind built and have about 100 marines and the 10 rhino chassis on my painting table at the moment (see my gallery). Its slow going as its boring work, hoping to get the rhinos done this weekend.

I have stuck in my order for next month and gone for:

So mostly an Orky theme for next month.

As a bonus I've attached a pic of my Reaver that my friend is building and painting for me for Christmas. It'll sit nicely next to my two Warhounds that have the same paint scheme - Legio Magna.

So Maxmini's two headed plague giant turned up this morning, I had intended it to be a nurgle themed fateweaver stand in, but its a little too big for that! Going to be a Nurgle Greater Daemon as its not much smaller than a Warhound!

Pretty much finished, just needs final tidy up after water effect has dried.

Some of my Ork stuff I've done over the last week or so.

Currently working on a Pain Boss, Battlewagon & two Dakka Jets, hope to have them finished in a day or so.

The bits from Ramshackle turned up, those are built after a bit of pain getting things flat and level. The Radcoptas are a bit of a beast to build, really need two part expoxy and pinning as its really heavy resin, they aren't that much lighter than my thunderhawk!

I've loads of spare bits left over, going to use those on some trucks from Ramshackle to make proper orky big tracks next month. Also planning on getting some more SoB vehicles next month assuming they work out right in the new codex.

Lots of Forgeworld goodies here but even nicer to see the Ramshackle stuff. Those ork copters look really beefy how do they scale with other 40k stuff?

They are about the same size as the storm raven with expansion kit minus the wings obviously. Very heavy kit, even compared to the FW flyers.

Looks like you've had a busy weekend the flyers look great together, will they be Ultras like the Spartan?

Yup, for my second company, they all get flyers! Got to sand them down tomorrow when they are dry.

Spartan is for Calgar and a mess of honor guard.

Got repressors on the go tonight, built and currently spraying the base coat.

Yup they are, brought two of each and kit bashed them together.

Kit bashed servitors, no way I was paying a fiver each for official ones!

Needs green stuff and a tidy up.

Haven't posted for ages as I haven't made much progress.

My friend finished the Reaver for me, group shot with my Warhounds.

Current painting queue is the other photos. Working on getting my HH UM Company complete, I'm doing the vehicles and my friend is doing all the minis, I have nearly everything I need for them now but it'll take to September to get them complete. HQs being done to display standard, rest to a very good table top.

The Reaver and the Warhounds look fantastic together.

Their first game together this coming Saturday, getting on for 8k of superheavies per side.

My friend made some progress on my knights, the other two should be ready today, so hoping for a group shot tomorrow. He'll be moving back onto my HH UMs with an assault squad up next.

Not making much progress on my painting pile and its getting worse with more stuff coming in the post. I'm waiting for a bunch of mechanicum stuff to come in the post for my Titan Legion Auxilia.
