Feel like I've seen these before - anyway, bloody amazing, probably the best sallies I've ever seen. The fire effect is perfect, green is spot on and the weathering is flawless. Good to see they're charcoal black with red eyes too

Nice, very nice but do something about the boring bases, they look just like my first bases before I changed them to custom made.

These are pretty outstanding.

Personally, I think the bases look great. Good scenics, and desert bases are a nice departure from the typical lava bases that everybody and their brother uses for Salamanders. If you really want to jazz up the bases, then perhaps a visit to Secret Weapon Miniatures might do you some good, since they have three or four different desert sets, as well as some bones that would look really good painted bleached out and half-buried in sand.

You made some really nice coloration decisions also. Black backpacks and orange eyes, while a departure from their standard coloration, play really, really well. I may steal the orange eyes for my own Salamanders, actually. Your freehanding skills are hands down better than my own. I've never been able to freehand the chapter symbol, and you seem to be able to produce it reliably at will. Really great skill set here. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!

@ Pyriel-: Thank you. I do plan to create some more interesting bases for future pieces. I didn't want the tactical squad bases to look too cluttered with terrain. Admittedly the Chaplain base could do with some embellishment and extra details.

@ Jimsolo: Thank you very much. Thanks for the link to Secret Weapon Miniatures, they have some great bases, I may well order something form there in the future.

Excellent paintjob it all just ties in together really well. The only tiny nag is the for me the weather around the rhino exhausts is a tad too dark for my liking.
Love the fire pattern on the chaplain's helmet that's some steady hand you've got.

These are excellent. The freehand is great. I particularly like the chaplain, specifically the flame work, including the subtle cranial flames. Nice touch. Cheers.

Stunning. Those marines are possibly the best painted sallies i've ever seen.

Everything is beautiful. If i have ONE minor criticism, it's that the mud weathering on the rhinos is a bit heavy for my person taste ... there's absolutely nothing bad about it, i just prefer a little less weathering is all.

Are the shoulder pads (non-flame) decals or hand or GW? Either way they and the rest of the army look fantastic.

Seriously, though, these are the best salamanders I've seen, one of the best SM armies full stop. Great work, looking forward to seeing more. The Chaplain is just stunning.

@ Haight: Thank you very much. I want to have a very war torn feel, as if being on a long hard fought campaign. It was actually quite an experimental piece, although maybe not to everyone's taste.

Beautiful work. I am in awe of that Terminator Chaplain. Thank you for not putting them on epic lava bases with OSL , I am getting pretty tired of seeing that on every Salamander army as if they only ever fight inside Volcanoes. I can't wait to see what you do with some terminators and a Stormtalon!
