I am planning to paint some wraithguard iyandan style so have been practising yellow armour which I am now happy with. (See below) its a little darker than normal iyandan models but now I'm struggling with a blue to go with. Any suggestions welcome

Not sure about the blue but for the yellow it looks pretty good! I don't see to much highlights but it might just be the picture lol.

For yellows I typically do this:
1) Prime in black
2) Base coats 2-3 layers of Averland sunset
3) Highlight edges with a bit of bleached bone (it gives it a little more toned down edges)
4) Wash of Seraphim Sepia only in the cracks but you can wash the whole model aswell just give darker appearance if that is what your going for
5) Any fine details you want to add

This gives a similar look to what you have here it might even be the same but the bleached bone highlights before the wash then wash over them gives it a good look in my opinion.

The blue I would go with something dark maybe Kantor Blue with a highlight of Calgar Blue.
If you are doing swords I like the look where the base of the blade where the handle is is really dark then transitioning into slightly lighter and lighter and then almost white at the top.

I have used this technique with doing some warpstone green smoke on the Island of Blood skaven warlord it is actually really easy and gives good results

I use Yriel yellow with a Casandora yellow wash and Yriel + white for highlights
The blue is Kantor blue and then mixed with Fenrisian grey for hightlights.

@VonKessler:
Much brighter yellows than my technique. Those models look great!

For blue I do macgragge blue and blue+dark tone ink for shading.

@VonKessler - those are beautiful models, the blue is really nice something I will definitely try.

@chief - the model is kinda highlighted but I have since added some thin bleached bone highlights and it does look much better. Thanks for the input.

I am gonna order some wraith guard this weekend and will post one here when done as all the suggestions have been great.
