These five troops are the first of a new platoon. The Catachan legs need the belt cutting off before the Cadian torso is attached. The Catachan arms work once the shoulder armour was added in green stuff. The respirator helmet and backpack are from the Forgeworld Cadian Respirator squad upgrade kit. As the 142nd Mistral Rangers have been indentured to the Inquisition they have their etched brass insignia on the shoulder.

This is the first time using hard edge highlights and the first serious attempt at modelling the bases.

These look solid. Good work.

I'd suggest a limiting your lightest highlight on the black a bit more. Maybe introduce a more blue-grey intermediary highlight.

Nice dynamic models. I'd second the comment above about toning down the highlight, but other than that, great stuff.

OK I've managed to get some better photos of these guys.

The Sergeant is ready to undercoat. I thought it worth posting to show how the kit bashing and converting came together and to give myself some impetus to get him painted up.

As a bit of inspiration I put the Sergeant with the rest of the squad so far. Just need some more Forgeworld Cadian respirator squad kits and I can start the flamer trooper.

Wow. Thanks for the great comments. The idea is that they are indentured troops under a secretive inquisitor and destined for honorable execution at the end of their duty!

So I have finally completed the squad having finished painting the sergeant and put together the final trooper with a flamer. Going to restrict the more specialist weapons and heavy weapons to their own support squads. Just need to get hold of some more Catachan arms!
