Just recently started a daemons army and I figured it would be a great time to also get my painting skills with glowy stuff going! I've done up two here and was wondering if I could get some comments. What I've done so far is mostly just two test models done using drybrushing. I just mixed the colors in different combos and gradually worked my way up to white. Anyone got any tips on ways to make these better/faster/easier? Not looking for award winning quality, just hoping to make my guys look nice and purty on the table. Thanks!

two different colors schemes, but which one?

The green blade pops more and will likely look more striking with a full squad/army.

The orange blade is more thematic and ties in with the Khorne theme but is more subtle and blends with the Bloodthirster too much.

I've done a near identical green effect on my Letters just airbrushed it as I'm lazy, and, as Tyberos points out, they definitely pop more.

It is important to break up all the red with something, and green definitively works very well.

green is much more forgiving in blending, red less so. Contrast is also spiffy.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.

Thanks! I was also leaning towards the green more, just seems to have more of a ghostly/evil feel to it. Anyone know of good ways to get that glow effect other than dry brushing? I don't have an airbrush btw and an really looking for ways to expand my different painting techniques
