The question now is go with all green plates or should I mix in a single off colored plate? I was thinking a black and White, not sure yet, maybe I should just stick to the green plates and see it through and then decide.

Those Dark Eldar look amazing. What inspired you to do them all up in a Harlequin style theme?

I was looking through the redone dark elder codex and found there is a specific harlequin section, so then I googled harlequin and it showed me a ton to jesture-style images and I was hooked on it, I wanted to test my painting ability and do some freestyle work, and have my models to be awe-inspiring have people stop and look twice or three times and find something everytime. I wanted people to appreciate and admire the painting skill, and I wanted to do a different scheme then your generic 2-3 colors and dark and gruesome or bright and radiant. I wanted a "expelled evil" race to have an inviting look and accent the dark elder agility with what harlequin are known for, and hint at the twisted mind of the dark elder with the renowned harlequin white mask with different style of face paint and it allows me to do a mix of bright lavish colors and dark gruesome colors, for me it's fun to get creative, I can have one guy with vibrant red hair, one with vibrant blue hair, one with vibe rant green hair, one with generic black hair but do a unique design on his face it allows my creativity to run wild and I don't have to have a uniform look.

So for the raider armor plates I decided to go with a multi-colored look. I think after I do my highlights and layering it look outstanding opinions?

These are awesome, tbh the pattern is a bit much on the vehicles for my personal taste, BUT still super nicely done! and the motley on the infantry units is some of the best ive ever seen ! really really slick.

So should I stick this color scheme or should I do all the armor plates same color green/white or black/yellow. I feel the multi colored looks more harlequin IMO

Looks good - a far cry from my drably coloured kabalite warriors / wyches. The wych models would make great harlequins especially if the heads from Reaver Jetbike riders / hydragauntlet wyches were used! Very cool!

Ok so I started on the grating on the floor, I am trying to stay away from the traditional silver so I wanted to do a hint of red and not sure if I want to add another color, I was thinking tieing the black and red to the black and gold on the outside. Any thoughts?

Then I am gonna tie all the colors together here. Red and blue up and down green and gold down with black outline

Oh wow! what an awesome thread to stumble upon on a monday morning This is some fantastic work and some good inspiration. I was considering an all harlequin styled eldar army myself as my next project.

The pattern effects are truly amazing, can I ask what you used to achieve this? I am assuming:
Black base coat -> placement of squared pattern using tape? -> remove half of pattern and spray? -> do other half?

no that cant be right, cant work out how you managed to leave the black lines between?

Anyway
On the floor grating I think you are right, you need an extra colour to tie in the black and red imo. as while you have a few colours on the model already, what you dont have at all is any kind of edging/trimming to embelish all that fantastic pattern work. I feel like you need another colour to provide some more separation and allow the eye to define the areas.

Although you could argue with a jester-esque look that in fact thats not at all what you want and you want the shapes/edges to merge and give it that sort of mirage effect that harlequins are known for.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

@solar: I am glad to be the inspiration. I wanted to keep some basic colors on troops, I think I am gonna color coordinate my raiders primary colors with the troops, so like these warriors are gonna use this raider as it's dedicated transport, so most of the raider is red, blue, black, my next ones will probably be same colors but the primary colors on the next ones will be black/yellow and white striping. As for trimming/emblems I will being doing all that in the end free hand. As for the lines, prime it black and use a mechanical pencil and the draw your line so you can see if how it all lines up and either use thin strips of tap and tap off the lines or as I did free hand.

Wait till I get the sail up, I am gonna try and free hand some emblem/design I am gonna paint the gems in purple/pink and red/orange/yellow then once I get the dark lance up, I am gonna try and dark blue/purple swirling cosmic color with a glow effect highlighting.

I want the look of my army to inspire people to be creative and draw more people to the Dark Eldar cause.
