Both of those thoughts occurred to me as well, I just voiced the most absurd I was thinking.

Also, they disabled the GPS network but their citizen bracelets still work? How, by magic? By Chinese satellites that don't have a full constellation(they have a test network up, their global network is still under construction and expected to be completed by 2020) yet?

While I won't get into it, the premise that China could somehow effect our GPS network gets even stupider if you talk to someone who's worked at Schriever with our GPS network,

My eyes hurt. I went and looked at the Youtube comments. If the comment isn't about how the movie is just pandering to Tea Partiers, it's most likely about how "this movie is gonna be great, it's totally plausible you guys!"

And the guy who's warning we need to pay attention cause the government is training for this(the government training scenarios train them for EVERY scenario someone can come up with, no matter how absurd, unlikely or implausible) and it's a warning about the IF chips we're totally going to have mandatorily implanted soon, someday.

If you're going to make a movie with a really implausible premise that even I can't suspend belief long enough to get into, you can at least make it campier than hell. That's what the Expendables did and it worked great for them!

Also, where's the military? Y'know the real one that swears to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic(which could mean even against our own government in event of attempting to overrule the Constitution)?

Yeah you can. It's called the original Red Dawn. Which, while the premise was ridiculous it was still 100% more realistic than this pile. I can't get those two minutes back!

I actually found the potato powered contraption thingy hilarious. Just staring at this vast mount of tatties with wires stuck in them, and all linked up to this little gadget.
But the whole concept is ludicrous. I mean, sure instead of attempting to tackle europe, your closest source of opposition and those whom will surely react should you attempt this, you fly thousands of miles across the world to invade america?
I know that im going to get much rage for this, but just as with Independence day, Red Dawn and battlefield los angeles, this does seem to be the Americans attempting to bigman themselves up. You know, the rest of the world stands by and watches as these brave Americans fight off the alien invaders/foriegn invaders. Whilst i may sound critical, it does seem to be the trend that the Americans are always the ones saving the world and we just stand by and watch.

They should try this in North England. Yorkshire will just unleash mattyrm and Lancashire will unleash our northen menfolk, and well be done in days
