The Avatar is absolutely perfect and the base! The glowing heat effect is masterful, really, really good work there.

I have to agree with B0B, there is no denying your skill but I prefer my models to be routed in reality (I know I'm a hypocrite playing 40k in the first place)

Oh, I just love anything with hexagons. That beehive pattern with purple-blue shading WILL be an eye magnet on the table.

Is the avatars face not finished? Not up to par with the rest of the model in my opinion (which is pretty epic).

I tried to convey a red-hot. He's just so hot.

Yeah, I still think the face could do with some more contrast up to the bright yellow/white. Possibly not realistic in terms of real colour, but it's lost a little bit under the bright eye ridges. In particular the eyes and edge of the mouth don't quite jump out.

It's a stonking piece, don't get me wrong, but I think an extra 2 minutes on the face would make a lot of difference.

This is confusing for many, when you want to make a red-hot parts and paint too much yellow and white at the end. It's a mistake. If you overdo it with yellow and white, you can not have the effect of hot metal at all (.
As I said, the work was done two years ago-it's an old work)
