I just bought and read through the new IH supplement is there is still no named characters and you still can't give HQs Servo-Arms, other than the ones who have them already. It looks like we'll never get those at this point. The warlord traits and chapter relics are cool though.

I have been trying to buy it, but they will not accept my perfectly fine card information. I am dying to know what they did for/to my Iron Hands.

Well for one, we now have a 10th Clan Company for Scouts. Siiiiigh.

Yeah, I know they made up into the normal 10 company model, just named after each clan. That is such a horrible change. The thing I most want to know is the change in chapter tactic I am sure is there.

Stil have the FNP, IWND etc. Gained the March of the Ancients, which is makes Dreads HS without needing a MotF and you can take 2 techmarines for every HQ and 3 for every MotF. The Gifts of the Gorgon (Chapter relics) are ballin' too.

What the relics do?

The Mindforge Stave - Libbys only
S x2 AP2 Melee, concussive, force, Unwieldly

The Axe of Medusa
S +2 AP2 Melee, MC, Severing Strike, Unwieldly
-Severing strike 6 on To Hit rolls make the attack S +4

Iron Stone
Friendly IH tanks and walkers with 6" pass IWND on a 4+. 6s also repair weapon destroyed or immobilized.

Betrayers Bane
MC Combi-Melta with unlimited melta.

Gorgon's Chain - effects based on how many wounds the user has suffered
0 wounds suffered - 3++, +1 to FNP, EW
1 wound suffered - 3++, EW
2 wounds suffered - 3++
3 wounds suffered - 4++
-these are affected by IWND so regaining wounds makes it stronger again.

The Tempered Helm
Morale tests within 24" use bearer's Ld, 1 unit chosen each shooting phase within 12" can reroll To Hits of 1. Can be used even in in building or vehicles.

I am so glad there is an EW relic. Sounds fun to use as well.

And it's 5 points less than the Shield Eternal.

yeah it should be, the EW can be taken off eventually and the save gets worse. No adamantium will either. A thunder hammer force weapon is cool. That combi-melta sounds good too.

Still no Special Characters? That really hurts.

No, it strikes at S +4 instead of S +2

Warlord Traits
1- Adept of the Omnissiah - Gain Blessing of the Omnissiah or re-roll if they already have it
2- Fearless
3- +1 to FNP roll
4- Warlord and Clan Raukaan unit can auto-fail Morale checks
5- Warlord and firendly Raukaan with 12" get Crusader USR
6- Warlord and Clan Raukaan unit can reroll To Hits of 1 in shooting phase

No special characters, although upon further inspection, the missions section it has pseudo-characters. For example, it says to give a Librarian the Mindforge Stave to represent Raukaan's librarian. That's what they do for the IF Sgt. He's just a vet Sgt with with a powerfist and the Spartean Chapter Relic.

does the Gorgon's chain replace a weapon when you take it? Sounds like it is a relic version of an Iron Halo.

I wondered that when I read the relics section too, but it only specifies that you switch the Librarian's Force Weapon for the Mindforge Stave. So, at this point no, it does not.

If its through Black Library I had a similar situation with card not being accepted(mastercard). Turns out you have to call mastercard and set up an additional password for security reason, once that is set up it worked for me, and a few other websites are starting to require it with using mastercard.

Well, the only thing I can think of asking now rulewise is the approximate cost of Betrayers Bane.

I need to dissect the fluff myself when I am able to purchase it.

Does March of the Ancients encompass all types of Dreadnoughts (Ironclad, Venerable) or just the basic Dreadnoughts?

So Matt Ward rewrote another marine chapter to be ultramarines clones . I wonder how many Iron Hands players are mad . The rules on the other hand are balling , but Ward is good at writing rules.

That was part of the rules for the Iron Warriors (the "Legion Traits") in the 2002 Codex. I am actually glad they haven´t cannibalized that: chapter tactics should be unique.

What about sergeants in terminator armour? Dreads as HQs? Can HQs take servitors?

None. Anything unique to the old iron hands is gone. Theyre just bionic tank lovers that have named their codex-standard companies after their clans. Really disappointed about how they butchered the fluff.

Does Gorgon Chain and the Warlord Trait stack for a 3+ FNP? Also, is that Warlord Trait army wide, Warlord, or Warlord + unit joined? Thanks

That´s really sad.

Not gonna get this one. I hope they stop doing supplements, they are just butchering some of my favorite armies and in exchange I get only some warlord traits and relics. What´s the point? I am not going to tournaments and if I wanted to play them, there are many Codex: Iron Hands out there written by fans who actually know the background of the army.
