Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman

Hi, thanks for looking at my painting and modelling blog.

Ever since I first became aware of WH40k I was very interested in the lore about Rogue Traders and the idea of having a such a force has always appealed to me. With that in mind I started collecting an Imperial Guard force (in 3rd ed), with many modifications and modelling changes.

I was very unhappy when the Deamonhunter and the Witchunter codexes became obsolete as it removed several of the characters, but then became very happy with the release of 6th Edition with the allies rules and then with the electronic codexes for AS and INQ. I just wish they had done a bit more of a comprehensive job with the INQ codex as it would have been nice to be able to take an invulnerable save and having BS 4 acolytes and more weapon options would have been nice.

This blog is to motivate me in completing more of my modelling, painting and fluff projects.

In this first post you will be introduced to:

Rogue Trader Reinecke, in his more comfortable, day to day wear. Little is known about the early years of Reinecke with his first entries into record only occurring after the Decimation at Praag where he intervened in the events with his cadre of highly trained troops.

During that event he also reluctantly acquired the personal service of Brunhilda, an Ogryn bodyguard. Bruhilda fancies herself a "Great Lady", and there are very few who deny her her chosen appellation after witnessing her fierce temper.

Col Kruger is one of the senior officers of Reinecke's Raiders, the nickname for the Rogue trader's retinue. The raiders are a highly trained, experienced and dedicated force that has overcome many different foes.

From time to time various auxiliaries are attached to the raiders. Sometimes this attachment is for only a single campaign, while others eventually become part of the raiders. Esmeralda is a "Waif", a force of auxiliaries raised on a forest world long thought lost.

Also included is some of the adverseries that Reinecke has overcome, include the notorious pair of bounty hunters Lex & Marina as well as the Witch Seraphina.

I hope you enjoy.
