Just started painting my DE army, they have been sat around for months in Finecast, Plastic and Metal shades of grey and so I figured it was time to give them a new lease of life...!

I am going for a Black / Purple base for the models but beyond that I have not actually decided what I am going to do.

Below are a few pictures of what I have done so far, I will update the thread daily with updates, I would like to keep this going until I am done!

I need opinions on Weapon and Helmet colours among other things, I have not decided on a colour yet...!

Excuse the mottled effect on the models, it is a mixture of spray paint and my cameras flash reflecting a little bit...!

This colour scheme extends throughout the 1850 list onto the vehicles.

The 1850 list also includes Eldar Allies in the form of Converted Guardian Jetbikes (on the old Reaver Jetbikes with the blades on the side as I love the way they look), 3 War Walkers, Crimson Hunter and an Autarch on a Reaver or old Harlequin Jetbike (not decided which yet!).

The Eldar allies are going to be Black / Blue rather than Black / Purple so they look a little different!

Second Coat on the armor is Drakenhof Nightshade.

Completed a bunch of them so far, time to work on the cloth things between their legs which will be a mixture of Agrax Earthshade and Seraphim Sepia.

Well tried a whole bunch of colours on the helmets, Cream, Green, Red, White, Blue, nothing seemed to look good (in my eyes anyway) so I went for the Nuln Oil.

I think it came out okay...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Anyone any good with colours and can suggest a colour I could add to brighten the model up a bit? The gold on the Helmet stands out quite nicely however I do not know where else on the model I could splash some gold.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

This is the colours I used on my Haemoculus for reference. I am trying to not make the models too bright but still have some stand out points on them...

Nice scheme and neat painting, but are those bright green old school bases stealing the thunder from the model itself?

As for adding more brightness to the scheme, you could always make the gems stand out more, even if it is quite time consuming.

I am going to add some stones to the bases and probably take the flock off the edges.

My board at home is entirely flocked so when on the table they look like they have no bases

I am not much of a basing person, any suggestions are appreciated.

Added transfers to the vehicles. Small details make big differences.
