With this pose I'm trying to give the impression that a flyer/drop pod/deepstriker has caught the riptide's attention as it enters the battlefield. Please Let me know what you think. I don't want to slap paint to it unless I'm getting the message in the pose. Thanks.

Almost looks like he's tip-toeing, trying to avoid being seen. ^^

I guess I modeled his foot like that because he is kind of mid-step and turning to face his new target. But I see what your saying. Thanks guys.
Edit: It's like he's going "aaaaaaaaand what do we have here?" Hah. At least that's what I'm shooting for.

If you make a puddle of water on the base it looks like he is checking the temperature of the bathwater.

I agree on the tip-toeing look. I'd put him flat footed, with his torso titlted back and turned in the direction of the imaginary flier.

Still on his tippy toes but I repositioned the leg to make it clear his torso is turning. Thanks again everyone, exalts around!
Edit: Stupid iPad won't orient the pictures properly.

still looks like he's slinking. Look up videos of dancers turning. I can't describe the pose... frankly though, this is a robot with a limited ROM. It's going to look awkward no matter how you pose him.
