Hi everyone, I have recently started collecting WH40k again, this time to paint for fun (rather than speed-painting for gameplay). I have decided to start painting Tau because I like their sleek, organic look and they are the only believable race for me (it always bugged me that in the far future people put on suits of armour and bashed eachothers brains out with swords and axes).

My current plan is to have a blue colour scheme for armour, with dark under-armour. Pathfinders and fire warriors will have fairly dark shades, while higher-ups would have more flamboyant colour schemes to make them stand out.

I just wanted to see what people thought of my first pathfinder, I don't want to go ahead painting and buying more without getting some positive reviews on my choice of colour scheme.

Please let me know as ruthlessly as possible!

Almost exactly the same scheme as on mine - I think the colours are great, on larger models red accents stand out really well from the blue and black.

very similar to mine, (i use grey instead of black) dont for get about sept markings, i use them to add some more flavor to the model (this is where my black comes in). they are a great way to add some fluff and character to the army

I know what you mean about people bashing people with swords, tau and Eldar and a few others don't rely as much on close combat.

I like the colour scheme. I am just not sure about the legs looks like a few blobs of paints accidentally got on there the Grey stuff.

Looks good though a whole army would look good. Show us what some xv8s look like with that scheme will look good I'm sure.
