Have you noticed there are no other items currently available on the GW website for Advance Order other than Space Hulk? They have been wisely careful not to have any other exciting new products competing with it at the moment.

I think the easter egg is perhaps the libbys name, who is, from what I've read, perhaps Mephiston before be vamps out.

Brother Calistarius was the name. And now that you've mentioned that, I can't help but notice that Lorenzo's sword looks very much like the one the current Mephiston model is holding today. Perhaps this is where Mephiston gets the sword he'll use later? I may just have to pick up the novel...

So can you put those minis on normal bases? Like, the medium round bases terminators are on now... would they still fit right in games of space hulk? or would the bases make them too big?

The Terminator's medium bases would most likely make them too large to fit in the Spacehulk squares, which would become a problem in Terminator conga lines as shown on the last page.

And while I'm sure you can easily fit the Broodlord and Terminators to the medium bases, I've been wondering about the genestealers though; would they fit on a 25mm base with all their elaborate poses, so they can be used in regular 40k? And if so, would they bases have to be removable like the medium bases to make them fit in Spacehulk?

And I absolutely love how they look! They'd make excellent scuttling genestealers. The broodlord is bigger than I expected too, seeing it tower over the librarian looks awesome.

After a quick look at the Rule Book today, I can answer a few questions.

Since someone asked earlier about the Librarian Psychic Powers: they take Psychic Points to operate, and the Libby has three (3) - the names may be incorrect:
1) Prescience (adds Action or Command Points back)
2) Block (blocks a square)
3) Mind Blast (can either blast a model or an area)

Also, regarding Yak's comments about weapons... I am afraid they did not change much
TH+SH = 1D6+ 2 & Block
LC = 2D6+...
Sarge = 1D6+1

Assault Cannon = 3D6, Unlimited Range, 10 shot, reload (no jam)

I'll say, especially since my bank confirms a transaction with GW, but no order up on GW's site. Time to start the mega-bitching at GW's Customer Service guys to check on it.

Okay- paged through this thread, and what seems to be missing are some size-comparison shots. Anyone out there got a pic of one of the 'Stealers and/or one of the Termis next to regular 40K versions of those units?

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Don't believe there is a pic of that yet. However we have seen them next to large dice, hands, gw boxes -thin and medium size. People have also taken pics and played the game, so this tells me they are the right scale. I think the anger would have hit us hard by these people if they were not. We also know that they are as resiliant as current range mini's. So all in all not a bad start. Side by side would be nice but at this moment I am prepared to accept what people have said about them. Just my 2 cents...

I wonder if the "Mystery Box" crap and quick reveal with no sneak peeks was to screw with a competitor.

IIRC, Incursion, the Weird WWII game that has a similarity to Space Hulk was supposed to be released this fall in a box set.

Just the rumors of SH earlier this year put the fall release plans to bed. They released just minis and PDF for all the rules and maps.

I wonder if GW marketing's plan was to keep it quiet and crush Incursion utterly with the surprise release of Space Hulk.

Back to the Pics. Are all the tiles embossed differently? I wonder how they would take to being dullcoted. That shine is a pain under most lighting.

The tiles are debossed. And they appear to be debossed relative to whats printed on them. So floors with "X" patterns have the space between the "X's" arms indented. While tiles with skulls have the spaces surrounding the skull indented. So yes they are unique.

For your dullcoating you just want to be carefull not to overdo it. They may be thick, but if you saturate them too heavily they'll curl.

Does the result of the SH plastic miniatures show
GW can officially replace all metal sculpts now?

No more excuse of pose and details difference.

I think it shows they can replace 99% of metal models with plastic. The important thing is I think it shows they could do a big number of special characters in plastic if they really wanted to. Maybe one day GW will put out a box with the majority of an armies special characters, together in plastic.
