Finally, took about two months to complete, and just in time, roughly, to mark my first painting anniversary. I wanted to tell a strange tale of a strange city; there's quite a lot going on there... The inspiration came from different places, Paris, Dishonored by Arcane Studios, the Thief series, and The City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff Vandermeer.
Parts of the diorama are from Kobblestone Miniatures, while the rest (apart from accessories such as crates and barrels) is scratch-built. I've completed the bulk of part II from scratch, and will soon upload an image, just to share my limited experience, for what it may be worth to someone...
Thank you for looking, commenting, whatever :-)

Absolutely fantastic. The characters are great and the signs on the alley wall are brilliant.

Too good to really comment on if I'm honest, an overall perfect piece.

The decoration is amazing, and you've done a wonderful job on the detail in the background! The characters are all very colorful, and the whole thing works together very nicely.

The 'hottie girls,' however, seem a little out of place. It isn't so much their costumes as their poses. Both of them seem kind of shoe-horned in, like there was some extra room for minis, but not enough time to pose them extensively. The one with the books, especially, looks less like a living part of the scene and more like a plastic mannequin in what is otherwise a very life-like piece.

Don't take that as an insult, please! I really like all the work you've put into this, and you are doing much better than I am, especially with only a single year of painting under your belt! Congratulations on your anniversary, by the way. Hope to see more good things from you!

First painting anniversary?!?! I'm just going to throw my brushes the feth away..

Absolutely stunning piece of work. Not sure I agree with Jimsolo, in a scene where you have ghosts, grim-reapers and flying bat machine things a little bit of 'camp' certainly doesn't look out of place.

The only mini that I think I recognise is the young lady dropping her books which is by Soda Pop.

The stories start writing themselves, looking at that diorama. Beautiful stuff - painting and construction both.

@all
Thank you so very much for your comments! I deeply appreciate them!

@Jimsolo
Absolutely no offense taken! To a point, I must say I agree with you. The "librarian", is esthetically, in terms of her clothing, a little out of place, but I liked the figure so much I just to include it there. The thing with her is she got startled by that infected resident behind her and tripped, thus her pose...

@Dreadclaw69
The one with the books is from Soda Pop; the witch with the red hat is from Freebooter; the prostitute at the door is a modified/converted Naughty Thief of Hearts from Dark Sword; the flying automat is the Guild Watcher from Malifaux; the ghost is Miranda from Hasslefree; the zombie is from Otherworld Miniatures.
The rest of the miniatures are from Rackham, which actually got me into painting as their figures are used in Cadwallon: The City of Thieves. You can still find quite a few of Rackham's minis on the German eBay, for a regular, sane price...
