Disclaimer:
Spoiler:
My chapter is going to follow the usual lore of C:SM, and by that I mean no female SM or other situations that make most people cringe and/or shake their heads in dismay, BUT, and this is a big but (and I can’t deny… ), is going to be heavily influenced by a particular anime show: It influenced the color scheme, chapter badge and will influence the names of special characters so, if you hate all things anime, you have been warned.

---------------- //--------------------

Chapter name: Truth Bearers

Warcry: "Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation! These are the truths of the Universe!”

Successors of: Unknown

Chapter Master: High Lord Satsuki Hiroyuki

Homeworld: Honnouji

Allegiance: Imperium of Man

Colours: White, Blue, Gold, Red.

Chapter Badge: A black 4-pointed star.

Codex Astartes compliant?: Yes, with some key differences: No different colors for the different companies; the Chapter Master has the title of "High Lord", the Captains are "Lords", the Chaplains are "Disciplinarians".

Current Strength: Strong, around 900 members.

Inquisition Note:There are many reported cases of battle brothers fighting after sustaining enough damage that would force them to enter into a coma. A possible sign of Gene-Seed corruption?
Not only that, the vehicle’s machine-spirits seem more tenacious than most, refusing to shut down and function until the bitter end or beating the odds and surviving yet another battle. Our Adeptus Mechanicus experts agree that although some machine-spirit are more, for the lack of a better term, stubborn than others, it’s perplexing how so many of them display the same behavior at the same time.

Chapter Tactics: Iron Hands – The global “Feel no Pain” and “It will not die” doesn’t represent cybernetic upgrades but the sheer force of will of all the Truth Bearers.

Modus Operandi: The Truth Bearers are a shock-assault chapter that will strike fast and hard either by using a massive drop-pod assault or (in case such a tactic isn’t possible or valid) by landing their transport and assault vehicles and charge the enemy position with a heavy armored force. They are a highly mobile chapter and avoid battle-plans and situations that would force them to remain stationary for too long.

Inquisition Note: The Truth Bearers are a Chapter dedicated to the protection of the many Imperial worlds but over the years there has been interesting reports: It’s suspected they intentionally allow some of the worlds to be attacked.
According to our records, these worlds were plagued with (bigger than usual) corruption. Not only that, the Imperial Creed in these planets is usually weakened.
We believe it’s their intention to let these planets to come under attack as a lesson, shall we say. Once they face the horrors of this Universe, they are now reminded of how humanity doesn’t walk an easy path.
Once the chaff has been removed, the Truth Bearers arrive, aiding and saving the remaining populace and military might. They arrive via their favorite approach, the drop pod assault, angels of death arriving on wings of fire, bringing sermons of how humanity needs the Imperium, how they must remain loyal subjects of the Creed so they can survive and to avoid such horrors from ever happening again.

The surviving humans are stronger, filled with zeal and with their faith in the God-Emperor fully restored.

Inquisition Node Addendum: A truly troubling characteristic is the adoration of the current Chapter Master (hence CM). We all agree it’s normal for a Chapter to respect and adore it’s CM, the levels we have seen are far above the normal. We are worried if the loyalty of the entire Chapter is to the Imperium and the God-Emperor or the CM himself.

We all know what happened the other times such a situation occurred. We may need to investigate this matter further and act before it becomes… complicated.
---------------- //--------------------

So, here we are, my very own Chapter. So, why C:SM? Over the year I found out I just didn’t connect that well with the first army I chose, Necrons. I like the infantry, I like the lore, I absolutely hate their vehicles. Oh, how I hate each and every one of them.

Not only that, C:SM has so, so, soooo many bitz options with so many 3rd party sellers or FW. You can pretty much make each and every battle brother unique too!

And third, I have been a Space Marine fan since I discovered they existed. W40: Dawn of War was my first big experience with the 40k universe, and wow, it just confirmed how much I loved Space Marines. I didn't start with C:SM when I started W40k because I heard how everyone had C:SM and so I decided to be different and start with a Xenos. Enormous mistake.

Moving on, about the Truth Bearers:

When I decided I would start a new army, I only knew it was going to be C:SM. I had no idea how to paint them, no ideas for fluff, nothing. Then it clicked.

My main inspiration for the Truth Bearers is a character from Kill la Kill, namely Satsuki Kiryūin. The very first thing she says is 40k worthy: "Fear is freedom! Control is release! Contradiction is truth! That is the reality of this world! Listen well, you pigs in human clothing, and submit to that reality!"

This character always shows this authority, this power, she’s a fantastic and powerful character I really like:

Spoiler:

With this pic as my main source of inspiration, I decided to use her colors as my chapter’s colors. After some experimenting, this was the end result:

I have two main objectives with this color scheme:
- To be a nod to Lady Satsuki, the main inspiration for the entire army.
- Force me to paint White. I’ve been running away from this color, avoiding it like the plague, but I can’t do that anymore. I like paint schemes with white as the main color and I really need to practice it. This will force me to use white and improve.

After choosing a color scheme, it was time to test it!

I really like the contrast I get when I use Nuln Oil for the “cracks” in the armor. It’s such a big contrast to the overall white, I love it!
The only thing I’m not too sure about is the white casing of the bolter. What do you think Dakka?

So, as I mentioned I wanted to start C:SM so does that mean I got other stuff besides AoBR marines?
You can bet your sweet-ass I did!

This last week was filled with cutting, sanding and gluing. My poor fingers really felt it but here’s what I have so far:

This, this is what I love about C:SM. All tactical marines are different from each other, I can give them distinct looks and even personality by using different poses. Oh, and the Vindicator is beautiful. It's big, it's boxy, it's a gigantic and compact machine of destruction. It gives me great joy just to look at it.

Some of the very special snowflakes:

Brother Tsurugi - A veteran of many battles, he constantly declined the honor to command his own squad. He feels the time still isn't right, how the best way he can serve his Lord is by being a weapon that can be thrown at the enemy. A master of the blade, he got his set of scars when he fought against a Berserker Champion of Khorne using only his combat blade.

Brother Itaru - A monster of a Space Marine wearing the heaviest tactical armor available, he's ready to destroy the enemies of the God-Emperor with rocket launcher and bolter. Here he is seen taking care of enemies that got too close using his beloved Bolter Pistol, Last Laugh. He's known for taking advantage of his heavier battle armor and do his best to help Battle Brothers under heavy fire.

Brother Hitohi, aka, Pyro - He's doing what he knows best and loves: Burning heretics with his trusty flamer, Mokou, named in honor of an Adeptus Sororitas from the system of Gensokyo, the only other living being Hitohi was able to have a healthy and enlightening discussion about the joy of burning heretics and how to improve it.
(I posed him as if he was laughing, a whooooole lot, as he burns stuff. I hope it gives that feeling).

Well, that's all for now folks! I'm sorry for any typos, I hope you enjoyed this first post and like always, C&C is more than welcome!

Have a Happy New Year everyone!

You crazy bastard! You would paint something predominantly white wouldn't you Good to see you expanding your already impressive skill set.

The test marine looks good, and I like the bolter casing how it is.

These guys look great, and you've got a fair chunk of them on which to work. Looking forward to seeing this one pop back up with updates

Wow, I didn't notice this at first! Awesome.

Now I need to make a Chaos Space Marine army themed around Ryuuko. And possibly some Nui-themed Dark Eldar.

Welcome to the internet, and specifically a gaming forum.

If your choice of game is not made in a blood oath that can only be broken by a quest and vow made with the most overwrought dramatics, then you aren't doing it right. -curran12

Well, this is strange, I was gonna let this blog fall to oblivion and start a new one since I created this so long ago but never posted more content. I also have some major changes to the lore and I even deleted some of the pictures because I was not that much of a fan of the content posted here. BUT, as a way to say "Thank you" for your kind words, here's what I have been up to:

The paint scheme was changed. After painting these guys I felt it had too much blue. I didn't like it one bit so I had paint them again while trying to find something I liked. This is the end result.

Here's a few close ups:

Thank you for your kind words all

Looking good! I will say the stars need to be neatened up a little (the points are meant to be much narrower for one thing) but that aside they're looking good.

I wonder how you'll represent Nonon?
