Well here goes nothing... Recently acquired an airbrush and decided it was about time I had an army built and painted.
I have a load of old marines lying around and thought what the hell lets make smurfs. My brother also got me a command squad for Christmas which helped sway my decision, and after picking up a tactical squad and a predator it was decided.
This blog is a way for me to track my progress as well as keep me motivated to paint the little blue guys.


Ok here is the start of my command squad all the parts are just held with blutac or a spot of superglue for the time being so there might be some minor changes to the poses, but as they are highlighted already nothing too major as it would make my highlights look off.

Just a quick update as I'm not going to get much done today, currently developing a headache at my kids friends birthday party.
Going to make a start on all the black and gold later on aswell as airbrush the commanders head and shoulders.

Ok time for my second update, as I said I would be working on the black and gold of my command squad I decided to do something completely different, I ended up building my predator and stripping and dismantling an old rhino I had laying around.
Gave them both a quick light grey prime then painted up one of my command squad.
Still got a bit of work to do on him mainly some weathering then a quick gloss and oil wash but that's for another night. So here's the latest pic any constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Now as it's its Sunday night real life is dragging me back into its bossom tomorrow so work on this will slow down, hopefully not too much but after a day at work I'm not always motivated to do a great deal of paintng.

Absolutely no progress to report after 2 weeks off for Christmas my body just won't let me paint!!! However tomorrow I finish earlier so gonna have a blast at my commander, need to add highlights to his gold shoulder pads and helmet, and make a start on all the fabric on him

I'm just getting back to the workbench after the holidays myself. Looking forward to seeing where you are headed.

Well the smurfs have gone on a lovely holiday to the WIP shelf they should be back soon here is what they were looking like when they went.

Still got a lot more to do but these are on hold for the time being ive been working on a tau hammerhead trying out some different techniques with my airbrush.
