After tweaking a Ravenwing list...a lot. I've decided to try out a librarian biker, I didn't want to spend a lot of money though, so I came up with a plan! I had some spare dark vengeance bits, so using the biker sergeant and the librarian along with a scalpel and some snips I started to attack the models. Now, I've only been at it an hour or so, I'm about to start applying green stuff to fill gaps and make the model look complete. After that I will clean all mould lines and imperfections, then spray, paint and finally glue!

I am looking for a suggestion as to how I can add a force weapon. I need it sheathed somewhere, the problem is it's already a busy model, anyone got any ideas??

Let me know what you think? Even if you think it's awful! I'd like feedback! Especially since I've never built a conversion before, this is my first attempt!

Pics turned around.

My neck hurts, but it's cool!

Have you decided what kind of force weapon? A sword would be fairly easy to sheath (lots of bits about for it, WHFB etc.) but axe / mace more problematic. Somewhere on the left since there's already a pistol holstered on the right.

I was pretty set on a sword, and on the left too, it's trying to make it fit and look right though! Sorry about the angle, if you click the image it should straighten up?

Ah, so they do! Learn something new everyday...
For a sword, I'd suggest a scabbard that is suspended from the belt (or saddle) rather than one that is directly attached, example from Google:

That way you should be able to position it so it's not awkward, and it'll just need some greenstuff straps.

Heres mine; similar conversion, with a sheathed sword off the Templars Upgrade frame. The posher angel wings for the back of the bike came from the Ravenwing Command Squad

I like that dude, that's cool! I was going to use the shrine from the champion, I am kinda glad I didn't now though. That's not saying yours looks bad, it looks epic! I just wanted the ravenwing poles. Did you use the sergeants bike?

Yeah its the Dark Vengeance Sgt's biker, with another guys handlebars (needed left hand on the bars).

Ive got other bikes I couldve used... :/ but the Dark Vengeance ones have that updated aesthetics that I wanted for him hehe.

Hopefully going to do a biker Chaplain later too... doubt il saw my Sephicus in half lol but we'l see what I can come up with.

Yeah, I've had to use the handle bars from the dude with the bolt pistol. Having minor issues with shaping it up to the torso though. I don't know wether to move the handlebars slightly and use some green stuff, or move the torso.

A chaplain on a bike would be awesome, I also wouldn't cut that model up though! I'd quite like to play with other librarian models though.

Ok, so I need some green stuff advice, I've packed the gaps and attempted to mould it to look good. This is the first time I've ever used green stuff - it's pretty difficult, I want to know how long until I can take the model apart to paint without ruining my model :-S I'll add the photos of the green stuff up

Yeah mine has greenstuff filling the gap under the torso to make it fit.

Itle take a day or so to set properly, but its also adhesive... so the parts will be stuck together lol. They will probably pop apart with a small amount of force, but I would wait for the greenstuff to be cured well first or you will deform your hard work.

Give it 24 hours or so. ... On mine the ornament at the rear is not glued on yet so i can paint he backpack, and the front well I'm just going to struggle a bit

So, if I now leave it 24 hours I should be able to pop it off without deforming it?

Looks great. For my RW librarian I used a back-banner off the 4th ed Ravenwing bikers and fitted it to a chainsword hilt. It looks like a Native American weapon and it is ambiguous enough to be a staff, a sword, mace, axe, whatever.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

yeah hopefully

The greenstuff itself will be acting as a kind of adhesive, as a pointer for future reference; if you lubricate one of the parts with some petroleum jelly it wont stick, but will need washing before glueing or painting.

Nice work converting though definatly one of the better first attempts that pop up

Thanks buddy, it's actually pretty easy so far, granted I need to master green stuff! But it's less daunting than I thought! Yours looks pretty awesome too, I was going to play it safe and just used the robed torsos from the RW bikes, but I didn't think it would have the touches that make the Libby, like the helm around his head, the gloved hand, and the book.

For sure using the top half of the actual Librarian makes it. Its the shoulder pad, the psychic hood, the book, casting hand.. all bits that wouldve been lacking otherwise.

Some people use a Grey Knight torso as they have a kind of mini psychic hood.

I've done one before, allthough dont have a picture where the bikes front faring (the angel wings and guns bit) was replaced with a large open book from the Ravenwing accessory frame. Looked good, but the model did not actually have the twin-linked boltguns that are standard for a Marine bike :( I had a cop out that there was an equivalent psychic attack being done with the exact same effect as a twin linked bolt gun lol

For the Chaplain... I've got loads of Dark Angels banner pole toppers that could be the top of his Crozius, and perhaps a chaos marine skull style helmet, just need to get him a posh bike, and to keep the theme another of those shrine/ornament things for the back of the bike.

Yeah, that's a cool idea, the book thing sounds pretty cool. I think the DV Libby is the best upper torso for a biker, I might play around a bit though...

Asmodai would make a lovely bike topper for a chaplain if you're willing to hack one up?

He's certainly got the pose right as much as I hate finecast, I dare say its easier going to saw than the old metals were I did a metal Azrael on bike a good 15 years ago... wish I still had it!

Here's one I did of my Chappy using all sorts of bits and such. The latest Ravenwing bikes weren't out then so it's a little more "old" looking.

The only thing that bothers me is the back. I had to push the Ravenwing pole to the edge to make way for the packs. This was before the new diagonal mounts they use. Hmmm... I just may have to do that. Wheee! Yet another project to add to the eternal list.

It's still pretty good dude! His is my first venture into the world of conversions, I fear I may get bitten with the bug!

And thanks MOD! I don't know why I can't get them to sit straight :-S
