Hey dakka dakka,
Since before the release of the =I= rulebook I've been interested in building an Inquisitor warband, however was unsure of how to proceed.
Now with the revisions of the supplemental I've become hooked on the idea of creating an allied detachment of inquisitor-lead PA Bolter acolytes, however, being the unique snowflake I am, I want to make something different than say, SoB henchmen.
I was thinking of theming them along the lines of gothic plated knights of medieval ages but with a mechanical twist.
as a means of representing the armour as PA I intend to create power plants with truck-like exhaust pipes coming diagonally out of the top and generally give the impression of a combustible powersauce.
I'd also add small wires and piping where I can, most likely around the armour joints.

Here's an example of the armour style I'm most interested in atm
Many more examples can be found on google images simply by typing "gothic armour"

Now at the moment this is all but a sweet dream unless I can find something to base the conversion on.
Usually I like to stick to as many GWS and self-made bits as possible However these closest thing I could find in GWS range were Empire Greatswords.
Now their kit comes in a few pieces, but only the torsos and some of the more fully helmeted heads are usable for this conversion. The legs aren't armoured enough for me to represent PA and would need to be suitably bulky. As for the arms? Would probably attempt to use scout arms w/bolter but again would prefer more fully plated armour.

If anyone knows of poseable models fitting this requirement, or of arm and leg bits that would kitbash with the Empire Greatswords head and torso (I'm not adverse to going out of my way to specifically buying only the helmeted heads if there are some nice limbs out there to match)

Anyway, I hope y'all like my idea, drop me a comment if you think of something or have any help for me.
Peace

No worries, still counts as feedback regarding the Greatswords
How do the Greatswords scale against an IG trooper? I'm hoping their armour gives them sufficient bulkiness, though I'm not wanting them to be as bulky as SM PA.

So far Empr Grtswrds seem to be a hot bet however that still leaves me seeking similarly armoured arms and legs.

Any further help would be much appreciated!
Peace

Perry's wars of the roses minis (I'd buy direct and just get the command sprues as those are the full-harness dudes) are good, but they're 'true 28mm', so seem a bit small right next to 40k figures. There's a mix of milanese and english gothic in the 'bow and bill' sets, flemish/german gothic in the 'mercanaries' set.

As for proper GW minis, you'll be looking at the VERY old 'Fighter' models (and some of those have been left behind by scale creep). Nothing suitable in plastic right now.

GW used to do foot knights for the Brettonians that might fit the bill, but as they are older they might not scale well against modern Guard models. E-bay is the place to check.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Fireforge probably has what you're after as those are historical plastics.

Other than that, have a poke around PP's Warmachine range. Precursor Knights, Swords Knights, Knights Exemplar or maybe even Stormblades (as the armour is already a bit technological-looking) would be a good fit. Or is money is no object what you're basically describing is Warcaster armour from the same game. Find a Warcaster you like and buy multiples of them!

Dreamforge Games infantry models with a head swap and some added bits (those little termie shields at the shoulders?)
would look badass I think.

They also have These guys coming out soon...

Well it pretty much began with me looking into the GK Codex for a suitable way to plan my samurai space marines. I thought about a few different ways I could represent them using Corteaz as a PA samurai leading a warband of not-so-badass armoured guys.
However I ended up settling on Space Wolves (which I felt were staring me in the face the entire time). That project has been indefinitely sidelined as I realised after seeing FW's Asterion Moloc and thinking "I want my samurai to look as aesthetically Japanese as that does Greek." that my abilities were not currently up to the task.

And so, with the release of the SupCod: Inquisition, I thought it would be cool to have a small inquisitorial warband to potentially give a little more flavour to whichever armies I spawn in the future.

p.s. those Dream Forge guys aren't in production yet so there's no way to really say. However, going by rough measurements, I'd say they stand about 35mm tall. That's just a rough estimate though.
