So this is a "pit stop" list as I try to build a 2000-2400 point version. I'm presenting what I played recently (because its what I have assembled), but would be happy to alter this as I get more things on board.
Sorcerer Mark of Slaanesh, Level 2 upgrade <SLAANESH LORE>, Steed of Slaanesh, Ruby Ring, Enchanted Shield, Luckstone, Spell Familiar <235 pts>
5 Warhounds Vanguard <40 pts>
5 Warhounds Vanguard <40 pts>
Chaos chariot Mark of Slaanesh <115 pts>
5 Marauder horsemen Mark of Slaanesh, flails, musician, standard <105 pts>
5 Marauder horsemen Mark of Slaanesh, spears, javelins, musician <100 pts>
5 Chaos knights Mark of Slaanesh, ensorcelled weapons, musician, standard, gleaming pennant <245 pts>
5 Hellstriders Hellscourges, musician <110 pts>
Total: 990 pts
The original concept had 7 flail marauders, but my order has yet to arrive, so the 34 points got distributed into random bits and pieces, and I failed to spend the last 10 (could get a doom knight, or swap from gleaming pennant to banner of swiftness).
One concern I have is whether people would be annoyed to play against this. I'm thinking not, since I've got to get in to combat to get things done. In that sense, it isn't pure avoidance, so I think it should actually be a game, rather than one player doing stuff and the other watching.
What would you change while keeping the overall theme? There are, obviously, 2 things at work- Slaanesh theme, and the cav/mounted theme.
If breaking cav/mounted theme, slaanesh ogres or forsaken come to mind. Perhaps not at this level, but I'm considering that Slaanesh ogres might be a fast enough unit to keep up, and would provide some punch. Not being cav, they don't provide a place to dive the sorcerer
I'll post up with the 2000 point version tomorrow, though it is considerably less defined. I'll also drop a summary of the game played over in batreps.
Even if you don't have suggestions, I'm interested to hear thoughts- clearly there will be some difficult match ups.
