Greetings gang! I am back from my very long and extended break. I am still in school but will graduate this term and after that my painting and modelling should pick up a little (soon to have a newborn to be dealing with!). This is my take on a custom chapter based from the Dark Angels chapter, they will be my Xenohunter's and some of them will be sporting some great trophies as I get to working with them. This first model is a test model for the scheme but I am sooo digging it and will be posting more photos as I complete more and more of these little bastids. So C&C are welcome as long as they are A) Constructive and not trolls or B) its got some good humor in it. This will be my work in progress blog about my chapter and it will be slow going for a while! I do hope you all enjoy it thought and any help or tips you want to give are greatly appreciated as well.

This first model is the captain from AoBR that I am using as Tactical Squad Sergeants. The armor is painted in a vallejio gunmetal blue and turned out pretty sweet. I dry brushed some silver over the armor to create some light weathering. The red on the cape is also a Vallejo color but I forget the name of that one right now. I also used some of the new tech paints from GW on the bolter and power sword to dirty them up a little and add some blood. This was my first time using them and I think I over did them both a little too much. Anyways without further delay some pics!

That's a pretty cool looking Chapte Master, can't wait to see the rest of the Chapte in a shot! Keep up the good work!

Aren't all Dark Angel's successors always on the pursuit of the Fallen rather than Xenos though?

Indeed they do! However I wanted to do something diff with my chapter. So from a fluff point of view These guys are from a portion of space where they have more contact and conflict with XENO's than the fallen. So they created their own personal Arch Nemesis (the Xeno's). They hunt them down and aid other DA based chapters fighting Xeno. This clears up the other chapters to focus on hunting the fallen. While this chapter will still hunt the fallen, they specialize in tracking and killing other Xeno races like Orks, Nids, DE, etc. Its more of a specialization. If that makes sense!

To Answer your question DerT84, my chapter masters were going to be the Legion Praetors from FW with a few add ons to make them more suited to my liking!

Finally made it home from Europe so I will get back to working on these guys as time permits!

Edit: After taking a day or two to recover from Super Cold Europa I got around to finishing the second Tac Marine to go along with that Sergeant. Wish we had a better camera that picked up some more of the details because when you look at these in person they do look different than the actual photos. Anyways I hope you all enjoy.

Also another way to look at them the chapter will be they are a sub-chapter of DA who really enjoy trophies. This first squad will be the FNG's and thus have none, after this I will begin gathering bits and the likes to start mounting and displaying trophies!

Alright gang time for an update. Sorry for this being so slow but the daily schedule is a little limited at the moment! BUT I am slowly making progress here is two more Tactical Marines for my custom scheme DA army.

First two photos are a regular TAC marine almost done w/no basing work so far!

After long thought and thumbing through the Dark Angels 6th Ed Codex at the hospital while they were monitoring the wife and her early stages of labor I stumbled upon a gemstone. This gemstone is the perfect explanation of how my DA Successor chapter came into being and their extreme hate for all things Tyranid.

as small group of survivors pass the testing for corruption and as a lasting testament of their appreciation and gratitude for the help given by the DA they have pledged their world and people in the creation of a Successor chapter under the guidance of the DA code of conduct. They are just as devout in following the rules for the DA Chapter as the original chapter is, and for what happened to their homeworld they keep a lasting hatred and hunger to extinguish Tyranid life forms whenever possible. They continue the hunt for the Fallen as well, however some of them wear gruesome trophies of recent tyranid kills.

So far for chapter names I am drawing a blank so any help would greatly be appreciated. What I have brainstormed so far is: Angels of Durganion, Angels of the Watch, Sons of Durganion, and Angels Valiant. Going to chew on this over the weekend as I watch things progress a little and maybe have my boy this weekend! Wish me luck! I'll see you all soon
