So I got this warhound from a friend yesterday paid $600 CAD, which in my opinion was worth it since my Marine army are Grey knights. My question though, should I leave it in its current painted state, or have someone build off the current paint, to make it even better?

What do you think of the current job on it?
What could be done to improve it?

I don't know but it's painted pretty well, if you're going to use it just play it as is. I might do some gradual clean-up work perhaps as time goes on.
Having someone re-paint it isn't worth it. It matches your army.

I dont want some to repaint it, but rather add to the current paint job.

Try weathering it.

A big ass red and white Grey Knights symbol on the carapace would look sweet and would break up all of that silver. Having said that it looks great as is.

EDIT: Also would I be considered a heretic if I said I didn't like the weathering look?

I definitely like it, but it's your model, do as you wish.

I think it's well painted and agree with a fellow poster that let someone repaint it, won't be worth it.

It looks fine as-is. If you do have someone do some work on it, make sure they know what they are doing. I think it would be a lot easier to ruin that paint job then it would be to make it better.

It looks great, and has clearly had a lot of time and effort spent on getting it that good, so there's absolutely no need to repaint.

However, at the moment the steel and gold could be linked to any number of SM chapters, so I'd add some freehand work of some kind, like some GK or Inq imagery/heraldry to really tie it intp the force.

I'm going to put another vote in for the above to help break up all that silver and also I think some nice OSL work needs to be done on the plasma coil to make it pop.

There are a few spots where a brown wash looks like it has pooled. I would be tempted to airbrush over that myself. Titans really are best served with an airbrush because of how smooth the color turns out.

Ive done two warehouse myself and this one is nice, definitely done by a seasoned painter

I am thinking of just getting a gk or inquistion free hand on the side of the carapce w/o skulls, what do you guys suggest for that?

I am not much of a fluff guy (don't kill me), I just wanted something a bit more to identify that he was part of my grey Knight/Inquisition army. Does that make sense?

And regarding fluff, If an inquisitor tells you to paint an Inquisition icon on a Warhound, you better damn well do it or it is a bolter-round-suppository for you.

Your Warhound looks slick. I really like how well the sparse bits of red play against the metallic hull. The only thing I'd change is the green plasma coils but that is a personal preference more than anything.

Yeah, that looks pretty damn good. I think that will really help tie the model into the army.

Right up to the point where an Inquisitor requisitions a Titan as one of his "henchmen." Or a Princeps was discovered to also have a latent Psychic ability and he, his crew, and his Engine were transferred to the one entity that could harness this ability.

Looks awesome for a free hand paintjob, also the brass etches work great and you could add just a ton of purity seals and scrolls. Putting some tiny script at his feet would look cool too

I am going to get the same painter to paint the new knight model. And the same person to do a free hand on the Knight banner.
