My daugther demanded a painting contest between us And demanded I paint something I had never painted before. So I started an Ogre (Planing to make an army of those)
Here goes

I really like it, I see you have made good use of the new effects paints. The skin tone is really smooth and natural and the blood splatters really set it off.

Only thing i'm not a fan off is the base, I know its quick and easy, but I think it looks kinda flat and lowers the overall quality of the miniature (but that may just be my oppinion) otherwise, a stunning start to what is looking to be a very nice ogre kingdoms army.

Personally I don;t mind the base, especially when the whole armywill be on the same bases. I could imagine they were walking through a dried up river or dry ground. Have to look into those new GW Technique paints, the effects are great.

Nice miniature, so do you have a comparison with your daughter's mini? See who wins

Russian Rebel Grots : 6,500 points painted P: 8 W: 2 D: 5 L: 1
Death Guard 1.0: 8,500 points painted (Pics available in Gallery) P: 7 W: 1 D: 3 L: 3
Death Guard 2.0 "Plaguepigs": 4,250 points painted P:4 W:3 D:0 L: 1
Thousand Sons: 3,750 points painted P:1 W:1 D:0 L:0
Nurgle Daemons: 3,800 points painted P:2 W:1 D:1 L:0

Thank you for the nice cc
The base will get some "dead"/yellow grass or straw on it. But at the moment I don't have any. will check the local hobbystore if they have some (They don't stock warhammer unfortunately)

I do indeed have a photo of my daughters mini, She is 11 so patience is not one of her virtues

She's clearly got her ROYGBIV down! That would be an awesome scheme for a nid army

Great work. Those ogre nipples must have taken some time, they just keep staring at me.

Just forgot what I was going to say.

The recipe is simple:
Base: Ratskine flesh or dwarf flesh
Wash: Reikland fleshsade or ogryn flesh
Layer: Tallarn flesh or cadian fleshtone
Layer: Elf flesh or Kislev flesh ( I paint it on in lines trying to follow musles)

Glaze: Watered down Gryphonne sepia or seraphim sepia

Years later..... An army is almost complete.
Some re-basing needed. But damn they are a fun bunch to play.
Just my Ironblaster and 30+ Gnobblars/Grots to paint.
