I'm building an orky vortex missile strong point, but need to make my stronghold the same dimensions..

Does anyone have the dimensions to hand? I can guesstimate from the picture in stronghold, but would like to be as exact as I can.

No-one where I play has one, and I can't afford to buy one to copy.

Thanks.

Old thread, but I have the same exact question.

Does anyone have one built, a few minutes to spare, and a ruler? The perimeter measurements are the most important, but I would greatly appreciate as much detail as possible.

Thanks in advance.

The Aquila Strongpoint, is part of the "wall of dead cadians" line of products, yes?

Anything on that pic?

Correct. It is that large middle section of the upper line. The Aquila Strongpoint is tricky because of its two sections - the missile silo or gun section and the smaller bunker section. I would like to have a Tau version as close to the original as possible.

Would you be willing to take some measurements on the heights and perimeters? The more measurements, the better, but I will appreciate whatever you can offer.

So lets see....

The octagonal main bunker is:
- 27,0 cm x 27,0 cm. At its base these parts are 11,0 cm each, decreasing to 8,0 cm at the top.
- height ( without the "aquila" cannon ) = 9,0 cm
- the Gun emplacement / missiles is a circle of 14,0 cm diameter. The platform provides 3,5 cm around this to place models.
- the "aquila" cannon fits into the circle, overall height is 12,0 cm. Weapon identical to the main gun of the SHV kits ( shadowsword etc ).

The lower level at the right adds 11,0 cm, increasing the size to 38,0 cm. ( 27 x 38 ). Its only 19,5 cm broad, the models width decreasing from the rear line to the front of 7,5 cm. Height of this is 6,0 cm.

Parapet of both parts of the bunker is 2,0 cm.

In general this kit is not high quality, just cheap big chunks of plastic who don't fit so well. You are better off creating one yourself.

Beautiful!

Thank you so much. I am a slow worker, but I will be sure to post what I come up with. But, I am a little sad to hear that the kit isn't great. I was still considering picking one up.
