Hello everyone.

I put myself in a bad situation where I only have 24 hours to paint about 3500 worth of Dark Angels (my own successor chapter), My main colours are white and gold.

Airbrush painting scheme:
Base - Celestray gray
Wash - Nuln oil
Layer1 - Astronomican gray
Layer2 - White Scar

My primary objective is to airbrush everything with base coat, wash and 2 layers before the deadline, since I can do the details painting with brush later this year.
More than half of my army is already base coated, so I am hope I will reach my primary objective.

As a secondary goal, I will try to add a the chrome and gold colours across the whole army.

As bonus if there is time, which I doubt I would start to go on the details, which are in red, green, blue and purple (sigils, markings, grenades etc).

The units I have in my army are the following:
HQ
1 company master with power sword
1 chaplain with powerfist and jump pack
1 librarian with power maul
1 librarian with power sword
1 librarian with terminator armour
1 belial (custom model)

Troops
4 full squads of SM with plasma gun
5 terminators with TH/SS
5 terminators with lightning claws
5 terminators with storm bolter/power fist
5 utility terminators (banner of devastation, plasma cannon, chainfist, heavy flamer, assault cannon)

Dedicated transports
3 rhinos
3 drop pods

Fast Attack
8 assault space marines (2 power pistols)

Elite
5 space marine command squad (banner of devastation and boltguns)
5 veterans (powerfist and SS, power sword and combat shield, power axe and combat shield, 2 chainaxe with plasma pistol and meltabombs)
2 dreadnoughts with multimelta and powerfist with heavy flamer.

Heavy support
1 Devastator Squad (2 LC, 2 PC, 1 ML, 1 HB)

If I get time, I will post a picture.

Well unless there is some short of gun pointed at you I wouldn't put myself in a situation where I have to rush through all those models in 24 hours. How on earth you managed to set such a goal and for what reason?

I doubt you will have time to post pictures I highly doubt that you will sleep at all.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

You are probably right.

I am returning to my home in Ireland, I have spent February with my family in Sweden where my brother has his air brush, that is why I have to to at least all the aribrushing within 24 hours (my flight leaves tomorrow).

Update, I base coated half a drop pod when something was wrong with my air brush, I had to clean it out and heading down the basement to continue painting.

I hate to tell you this, I don't think it's physically possible to paint them in that time. Basecoat them perhaps, with an airbrush, I'll be amazed if you get further than the basecoat though.

42 infantry models PLUS 6 characters PLUS 8 vehicles. You have to average 25 minutes per model if you don't sleep. Given you will probably take more time on the characters/vehicles and that's not even including the time it takes you to set up, clean the airbrush, thin the paint and all that good stuff.

If you can pull that off, I'll be very impressed. Even with airbrushing, for me to do a wash and a drybrush and pick out details just with a single colour (not even an edge highlight or any shading.highlighting on the details) I still wouldn't be able to get through a quarter of that in 24 hours.

Much much easier to save money and buy an airbrush. An average no name set costs about 65gbp on ebay and it is more than capable of doing the work you want. Don't rush the minis since A) results will not be the best possible ones B) You are gonna wait till next year until you get to paint some more minis.
Just save some money and buy an airbrush on ebay.

I have now base coated everything except a handful of backpacks and boltguns, the compressor got really hot and I decided to let it chill for some time while start washing the models.

Also I did add a devastator squad to my roster that I forgot about. I took two pictures almost covering the whole army (a drop pod is out of the view) with my laptop.

Yeah you may be able to base coat the army in that time but actually painting it all. Highly unlikley.

Whole army is now base coated and washed with nuln oil (I spent 4-5 bottles).

Is is close to midnight but I called the aid from the Red Bull chapter providing me with their holy relic "Chalice of Taurine", this will hopefully keep me alert for a couple of more hours.

I cant tell from the photo. Are these primed and then washed to bring out the details for painting or are these actually base coated and washed?

I have air brushed them with a water thinned citadel base color (Celesta Gray) and then washed it with nuln oil.
After that I put on a thin layer of water thinned astronomican gray (Layer) on a 45 degree view from the top of the model.

My last step is just to add one or two hits of white scar directly on top of the model (with the air brush of course) but now I am going to take a 4 hour nap (my air compressor needs to cool down anyways).

So this is the end result.

I managed to base and wash the whole army, I did the first layer on all but 2 drop pods.
