Hello again, I have finished painting my Forgeworld Angron. I have to say that I immensely enjoyed painting this model. It was much more fun to paint than Lorgar, who while nice, was very tame in terms of his pose and character. With Angron I really felt like I could make him look like the vicious warrior that he is. The two Marines that he is slaying are Salamanders. I chose that chapter because they would have been present at the dropsite massacre and they gave the best contrast to Angron's armor. I wanted to depict him killing enemies, but also being willing to step on and crush his own sons if need be. Hence the pre-heresy world eater getting his chest caved in.

I used quite a bit of the new citadel technical for the blood effects (it's seriously good stuff)...most of the painting was done by brushing on badger minitaire paints. I love this line, they made painting Angron's face a joy

anyway, hope you like. C&C welcome...though as always, the picture quality could be better...I'm going to buy a proper camera next month or so.

I posted the Lorgar pic awhile back but here it is again...these are the only two that I have because they're the only legions I own.

Lorgar looks great, the marines on the Angron look great.

My only criticism of Angron, is based on the photo the Golden armour looks like it lacks depth / highlight and contrast?

It maybe the that photo doesn't do your paint job justice, the armour may well well "POP" in true light conditions, but I cannot see it at the moment?

Please don't take this personally, I think you are an exceptional painter - Your Lorgar proves it, I just think maybe the Armour needs some contrast / highlighting to make that gold really pop!

I totally get what you are saying. I think it's probably a bit of both. Ill go back and add some depth to the armor. I spent so much time with his face that I may have neglected the armor

I went ahead and changed the shoulderS from copper to silver to add depth
