I agree. Not too shabby. Would you be able to post a few more with different angles/close up?

Yeah, seeing it from that angle, that is pretty good. Better than a lot of what you'll see on the tabletop at the average FLGS, even. The gun has more colors than I thought and looks cool, but personally I'd paint the hoses on the gun a different color than the rest of the gun, that's just my preference.

Really good work mate stick at it and stay consistent even if it takes a bit longer,I'd go for a black/yellow hazard stripe pattern on the gun but only if you're confident if not black/dark brown will look good.

Beware yellow is a nightmare to paint unless you do a light colour undercoat.

Only when you're doing flat armour plates over a darker colour.
In terms of hazard stripes it should be quite simple to just layer yellow over black until you get a nice, consistent colour.

Looks like an effective paint job.

Definitely a decent standard for the rest of your army.

I'd look into some tutorials for the HQs but eh...who doesn't need that for the more important models.

I agree that the hoses should be a different color but other than that the only thing I would suggest is adding a brown wash to the entire model. Delvan mud is the best brown wash around but if you cant find it you can easily make some with mineral spirits and a decent brown oil paint. Keep up the good work!

Wow! Great paintjob for a youngling! I have to agree with Dax415, guess painting skills don't come naturally with age

You and I watched the same painting tutorial on YouTube I think, as that is how my very first model looked as well with different colours. Keep up the good work, and don't he afraid to experiment a bit!

I'll chip in with a single mantra:

'Faces and bases'.

Without those, the mini will look unfinished, and people won't actually look at your paintjob - get some sand on the base, paint it, then a few dabs of static grass or tufts (don't over do it), and you'll find it looks a hell of a lot better.

Don't shield yourself with age.

You can be good regardless of the age and you can be bad regardless of the age.

I am old and I know I could learn a lot from people that are half my age...

My 2 cents:

- double check mould lines
- paint slower (patience = precision, I am still looking for my equilibrium in serenity... you can see that on my paintjobs... )

Keep practice!

GL! and Cheers!

Looking good I did my hoses in Blue, Red & Yellow like what you'd find in plugs and such.

The leather work looks fab and the teeth and face, I'd maybe put a nuln oil wash over the metal work just to give it a bit more depth and grime look. But impressive work so far!

Take some time over those hazard stripes. They're all over the place. Well done for having the courage to try them, now make them work. Keep it up.

Good mantra. Faces and bases take the model from tabletop to display quality.

Cheers the hazard stripes are something I did without any practice and I'm going to work on it
