So on the PSC website the news says we can expect the IS2s in 15mm for salute in April, these seem to have been taking a long time. Originally i was meant to get one free with the release of the battle group fall of the Reich book and that was some time ago, instead a i got a Churchill bundled. Though i am still excited by these given the price of the battlefront alternatives.

Otherwise most the news is 1/72 related with American weapons teams, 6pdr's and tows as well as 4ground exclusive scenery etc.

However the coming soon has been updated, we have 15mm Panzer 38t's and 15mm German trucks coming soon. Have to say a little disappointed with this as both these items are already available from Zveda at a reasonable price in the same scale, the 38t model actually being quite nice and the trucks certainly being decent enough. We also are getting some newly designed early war Germans in 15mm, again from the poll the other day it would seem late war is of more interest to 15mm players so i am distinctly meh about these. I understand though its to tie in with the release of Battlegroup Barbarossa but still since the last three battlegroup books all of which i have invested in have been mid to late war it would be nice if they could plug the gap in the range to suit these periods. So as it stands IS2's aside i have little to be looking forward to from PSC in the near future.

I think perhaps the doing things in two scales is slowing things down, and it certainly seems from the website that 15mm dominates the best sellers so more 15mm love would be good if you ask me. Of course i don't know the wholesale side of things and perhaps the 1/72 stuff is more popular in the traditional hobby shops.

Certainly things seem doomed to remain in the pipeline that i would love, the 15mm SDKFZ 250 for example, they are far to expensive for what they are from battlefront so would love a kit from PSC, also the 15mm 88mm would be nice and pretty much suitable for any period.

Have to say i am glad that battlefront are starting to work on plastics, i picked up some SU100s from Vapnartak the over weekend and i have to say i am rather impressed, and at twenty quid from a discount retailer its good value to. I know they have jagdpanthers in the pipeline which will be a must as well. Hopefully they will expand the plastic range, especially as there focus does seem to be more on late war.

So am i alone in apart from the IS2s feeling fairly indifferent about the short term future releases? trucks and panzer 38ts, though the marders might be nice if pulled of well. Also what would be the top of people wishlists at the moment?

Funny... the 1/72 gamers moan thats its all 15mm released by PSC.

Given the time it takes to bring a model to fruition, be glad thay do as much as they can...

Plus they now have me on board as research and review working with designers... so now a grand total of three staff!

Just submitted the research for something new...

According to the PSC website the 38t should have parts to make Marders and hopefully Hetzers so it's still got stuff late war gamers would be interested in and offers something different to the Zvezda 38t kit.

I'm quite happy to see Early War getting some love, it's rather unfairly ignored and lets not forget that PSC is a tiny operation compared to BF so releases will be slow. Under the circumstances I think they do a fantastic job.

I'm hoping 15mm early war British Infantry is in pipeline. I know we've only just had late war infantry released but it would actually be rather easy to resculpt them to early war. The differences are fairly minor.

They're releasing a lot more than 38t's and trucks.

The 38t kit alone will also make Marders (although which types they didn't say) and possibly Hetzers, which would be awesome.

Not to mention in the Forthcoming releases we have

15mm IS2
15mm Panzer 38T and Marders
15mm Early War German Infantry 1939-42 (which they said was a new style, so maybe they'll be like the Brits and look really good)
15mm German medium truck

and in the pipeline we also have

15mm KV 1/2/S/85
15mm German panzergrenadiers
15mm Panzer III J,L,M,N
15mm Stuart M3
15mm Late War British Heavy Weapons
15mm SU76
15mm Russian 122mm howitzer
15mm Pak 40 with Raupenschlepper Ost
15mm Universal Carriers
15mm 250 Halftrack
15mm 88mm and tractor

So don't give up hope yet. There's lots of cool stuff just down the road http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=3

I'm a big fan of Zvezda and the 38t model is very nice BUT it completely lacks the rather distinctive rivets covering the turret, I had been considering buying a company's worth anyway but I'll happily wait for PSC if it means not having to put on several hundred rivets myself.

15mm German panzergrenadiers eh, I wonder what the differences will be between them and normal late war infantry. To the best of my knowledge there was nothing special about Panzergrenadier's appearance compared to normal German footsloggers other than more zeltbahn's and a few more MG42's.

If they are anything like the Late War Brit Infantry (more chunky than previous releases) I can see them selling very well.

That list of upcoming relases looks good. Not much for me specifically as I'm mainly doing late war western front atm, but I can see allot of those selling vey well. I was hoping for Sherman Easy Eights and Jumbos. Oh well, maybe one day.

I'm not sure why he's crowding the market...Especially with 38t's and Opel Trucks, I can buy decent ones from Zvesda.

I want 4 Sextons or Wespes, or whatever for £19.....I don't care for the Trucks or even the 38t's. I can buy 38t's for like £3 a piece on Ebay, so for £15 I have 5 of them...actually it's £2.88 each and free delivery on ebay...

So for £19 I'd get 6 and some change....With PSC I'll get what 5? I'd rather he did a box of Artillery or something like British Weapons set (17lb, 6lb and AA gun or something).

As others have said Easy Eights or Jumbo's, these would be easily converted to Israeli stuff too!

I can see BF eating into his lead on a day by day basis, their capacity to flood the market quickly once in production will rapidly sideline PSC if not careful. It's a pity, I love Will's stuff.

Personally I think a Britih 25pdr kit with the options to build it for early, mid or late war would be a gold mine. Battlefront's 25pdr is the only reason I haven't done a Belgian armoured car force.

It's what else the 38t kit can do that will make it worth while, hopefully Hetzers and Grilles.

Trucks are uninteresting to me but I'm looking forward to IS2s and since I'm separated from my gaming materials until the summer the delay isn't a problem for me.

If he makes a 38t kit though, he'll have a huge headstart on making all the variant vehicles off the chasis. I could easily see one box being Marder/38t, while another is Hetzer/Hummel, or something like that.

It would be even more amazing if you could swap the hulls like the BF Panther box is supposedly able to do. Being able to say "screw it, today I want to run 12 Hummels" and pop the hulls off my Hetzers would be pretty awesome

I have some doubts about a single box / 2-4 vehicle types happening. Even if he has the sprues given the turn around time on the current boxed sets.

It's one thing having different mks on one vehicle type, to having 3 or so very different models based on one Chassis.

We shall see...

Maybe Will is thinking of upgrade kits for the 38T chassis?

Eg basic 38T and Marder box..
Then an artillery (Wespe Hummel) conversion kit box.
And a tank hunter (Hetzer ) conversion box?

I wonder if it would be possible to have a Sherman upgrade sprue. With new hull and turrets for Jumbos , and wheel & track assemblies for easy 8s on the same sprue?

I can only think off...

Panzer 38(t)
Panzer 38(t) with the extra armour bolted on
38(t) Flakpanzer varient
Marder III (carried both german and soviet guns, not sure if this would count as two uses)
Grille
The 38t version with the 20mm turret from the 222
Hetzer

Thats seven i guess, but i cannot see one kit giving you most of that. I imagine it would be easy enough to do the panzer 38(t) flakpanzer and the 20mm turret version on one sprue not sure about the rest

To bad they did not make 2 sets,One with Hetzers and 38(t) and the other Marders and Grilles.
Wow actually they could make three out of the sets.Maybe the others one willbe along soon.Since the already have the basic Auto cad design work done.

Well l reviewed the first render for the 15mm 39-42 German infantry today.

Good start. Few things need work but very promising and stylistically very much following the British release...

Has anyone purchased the SdKfz 251s from PSC? I have two platoons of leg infantry for Germans that I'd like to upgrade to a mech unit ... but 30 bucks plus shipping for 5 is much better than 55 plus shipping for 5 from battlefront. Plus 2 boxes would cover two platoons and the company command.

How's the quality?

I doubt Salute.

So far only four renders done, and a bit to correct on them. No timeline as yet on them, as infantry sets take a while.

This makes me happy, I'm hoping he will re-tool (is this the correct term?) the mould for the Germans, but in the meantime I'm very happy to see the slightly chunkier models, as I've killed a fair few PSC stands in the last 2 years as they seem to break at the ankles a fair bit.

Beefier infantry casts would certainly make me re-evaluate PSC's infantry offerings in future.

Im probably not really allowed to say, but after doing the research pack for the new early war Germans, im doing one for new late war types...

I suspect all future PSC 15mm infantry will be on the beefier side now.
