I started painting in October just gone and have finally plucked up the courage to post a couple of my Orks. I know that they are a little sloppy so Im looking to get some advice on basic techniques and any other offerings you guys and gals can throw my way. All c&c welcome, be as brutal as you like. Cheers in advance.

The job isnt to bad but i can see that you are putting a brush stroke to many while the paint underneath hasn't completely dried, that aside they look pretty great,

and as a passing remark do you play the game? cause if so Kaptain Budrukk isnt the greatest thing in the ork codex nor are the flash gitz but other than that pretty good

Ah, I see you have run into the great Mephiston, Lord of Cheese! Not to worry, that block of chedder can be tied up easily with 30 boyz, can get his ass handed to him in a match with Ghazzy, and can be squigified with Zogwort. How satisfiying would that be? ....Squigfiston, Lord of gak...

I don't like the skin tone but the talent is obvious.

Cheers guys. How long between coats would you advise? No, i only paint for pleasure at the moment. I will more then likely play once i have a big enough horde.

As for Snikrotts fleshtone i painted him that way as a form of camo if you catch my drift.

same for the skin tone.. i allways thought that orks would be darker green the more powerful (and boslike) they get. (in my head it's: boyz are green -nobz darker green -bossez, darkest green)

but hey, if your clan are albino orks, why not . It looks far better than the Toothpast-green orks you sometimes see

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

I like the brighter green and paint my to almost the same color now. Keep it up. Not sure how much wash you use but could probably benefit from some more.

Most of the orks ive painted so far are bright green. I just wanted snikrott to be more camoflauged, although i will be painting his kommandos the same way.

As for the wash i cant work out if im using to much or not enough lol.
