Here's my kabalite warrior. Does it look good?

I like it. My only nitpick would be the guy looks a bit too clean. Maybe dirty or weather the armor just a bit. Give it the look of a guy who saw some action and did not step out of the Dark Eldar men store.

Any tips on weathering the army without ruining the highlights?

Wether the un-highlited parts

For exemple, take some blister foam and some boltgun metal or some dark metalic stamp a bit on a paper towel to get the excess out then create scratches on the helmet, top of the shoulder pads, knee pads. You could also crete scratches straight with a paintbrush but it looks less natural. Aim for places where you would be likely to scrape and scratch if you moved/crawled around.

If the metal looks too bright, a few drops of nuln oil wash or a dark glaze to darken the metal scratches without washing the whole model.

You don't need to scratch the whole armor but a scratch here or there from one model to another will give them a battle hardened look.

Awesome advice! Here's an image without the flash can you tell me if it looks better?

You've done a good job with it. Well done.

Without the flash it looks much better. If you want to make it look less clean you could use a little bit of black/brown wash to dull some of the shininess.

Looks good.

I would suggest using some dark green wash or shade on the gun. Just on the green part, of course.

I would also suggest using a light bone colour on the three spikes on the tabard. This would make them stand out a bit more.

All in all, good work.

A good move is to paint the whole unit as one. That way you keep the colors consistent, and you'll notice that muscle memory takes over after you do a few.

Now that you have the scheme worked out, get to it!

I agree it looks better without the flash. Looks a bit grittier. Keep it up!
