Testing out a color scheme for my GKs on this older terminator - there are quite a few little things I should have clipped off or filed down but I'll take care of that later and touch up the paint, I noticed most of them after I sprayed the base coat.
So... pass or fail on the purple scheme? I'm not the biggest fan of a silver army from both a looks and painting perspective, but also didn't want to use a flat grey as I thought it would be way too boring. The base color I used is (ironically) called "Slaanesh Grey so I guess they can still be called Grey Knights despite being purple haha.
Let me know what you think! Thanks.

He looks good, but the base is clashing with the overall scheme. The drab olive is just not working, I would suggest a brown tone for the base.

Thanks for the input, only reason I made the base like that is because it's pretty close to the color of the mat we play on... Will probably go ahead and change it because it definitely doesn't fit the color of the model.
I think I'll also try highlighting the edges with a regular grey instead of brighter purple (kind of hard to see in the picture right now and doesn't quite seem to fit the model)
Edit:
I guess another question would be is it cool to have Grey Knights that aren't silver? Would be good to know if I'm completely breaking the code before I paint half the army haha.

Well original GK color was kinda black from what I ve seen. So yes it is definitely ok to have Gk that aren't metallic.

Got milk?
All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

well from what ive seen in the codex pictures and what i've read from lore stuff GKs armor is mithril silver (don't know what the "new" paint color GW has for it now) and lore wise isnt a "color" per say as its unpainted and just the natural state of the ceramite plating used to make the armor in reference to them being "pure" gene-seed wise.

I think the lighting had a bit to do with it, along with the brighter purple edging. It's sort of an ambiguous color anyway, somewhere between grey pink and purple. I changed those edges to a very light grey and it makes the whole model look a bit less purple/pink anyway. I can post a new picture or two when I'm not on my phone, it will probably show up sideways or something.
